[History]
Kithood [0 - 6 Moons]
Beekit was born to Hornetstripe and Applerock of Windclan, alongside Spiderkit and Cricketkit. Unknown to Beekit and her siblings, during the early days of their existence Hornetstripe had shown to be not very experienced when it came to kits. She would carry the kits wrong, if she couldn't understand why the kits were crying she would leave the nursery until they cried themselves to sleep, and she lacked the sort of scheduling kits needed. Wolfsong, Hornetstripe's sister, saw this and could not stand to watch this. Hornetstripe loved her kits, and she did what she thought was best, but Wolfsong had to take control.
For as long as Beekit could remember, Wolfsong was always there to take care of her, Hornetstripe felt more like a babysitter. Beekit even referred to Wolfsong as her mother, which made her feel awkward, but she said nothing about it. However, Hornetstripe was not happy when later on she heard Beekit call Wolfsong "mom". She screamed and cried knowing her own kits thought of her sister as being a better mother than her. Out of anger and jealousy Hornetstripe gave up her kits for her sister to adopt and become her mom instead.
Beekit didn't understand what was happening, as the sisters argued outside of the nursery, but she didn't ask any questions when she noticed Hornetstripe was no longer around. Other than that, Beekit grew up as a normal, playful kit. She loved her adoptive mother, and made sure when she was in an accident that she got plenty of licks and cuddles so she wouldn't be sad or lonely. One peculiar thing about her was that while other kits loved to play with feathers, Beekit was entranced with leaves, she always fell asleep hugging one. When she became older and neared the age she would have to become an apprentice, Wolfsong tried to wean her off the dependency to hugging leaves, but it proved fruitless.
TL;DR:
Born to Hornetstripe and Applerock, along with Spiderkit and Cricketkit.
Parents didn't know how to handle kits, so Wolfsong had to step in.
Beekit called Wolfsong "mom", leading Hornetstripe to become jealous and give the kits to her sister.
Wolfsong raised the kits as her own.
Apprenticeship [6 - 12 Moons]
Wolfsong made sure the litter looked their best when it came time for them to become apprentices. Beekit, now Beepaw, was the second to get her name, bounding up she met her new mentor, Honeyheart, and was eager to see the territory that lay beyond the camp's walls. The first step she took out of camp was a painful one, because she stepped on a dead bee and got stung, she had to go to the Medicine Den to get it patched up.
During one of her many trips to the Medicine Den, she met another Apprentice named Owlpaw. The young tom was shy compared to Beepaw, but he was smart and the two got along. Her first friend in the clan. He had a small illness, and because she was only in the den for a bee sting, she left and returned with an acorn. She didn't know how herbs worked, she just assumed it would work. To her credit, he did get better.
A few months into her Apprenticeship, Beepaw noticed a she-cat she never paid much attention to before, a Senior Warrior named Craneglow. She fluffed up any time she looked at her. Craneglow assumed she was just shy, neither knew what the younger cat was feeling. Beepaw came to Hootpaw and asked him if something was wrong with her, they figured out that she was acting weird because she had a crush on Craneglow. Beepaw didn't understand why she and Craneglow couldn't be mates.
Only a month later, Craneglow was on a hunting patrol when she was bitten by a snake and died when she couldn't get back to camp in time to battle the poisoning. It was Beepaw's first encounter with death. It was more shocking than traumatizing, Wolfsong held her close, warmly. Owlseed became sick again, so Beepaw left and returned with another acorn.
TL;DR:
Was given Honeyheart as her mentor.
Met Owlpaw and became friends.
Developed a crush on Senior Warrior Craneglow.
Craneglow died after getting bitten by a snake.
Warriorhood [12+ Moons]
The day she got her Warrior name wasn't an all too happy one. Owlseed had died that same day due to his illness, the acorn she gave him couldn't save him this time. Still, she was named a Warrior that same day: Beeleaf.
This was the first loss that really hit her, as it impacted her daily life. She learned that all illnesses could lead to death, and there was no miracle cure all. Despite no longer being her mentor, Honeyheart continued to offer her support. Some Ratstar stans told her how stupid she was for genuinely believing that an acorn would cure him and that she should have seen it coming.
She eventually got used to not spending all her time with Owlseed anymore, spending her days with her family, Honeyheart, and her mother's previous Apprentice, Whitehawk. Wolfsong was named Deputy under Ratstar only one season after Beeleaf was named a Warrior. Wolfsong was a well-liked Deputy, she was reasonable, responsible, and well respected within the clan. Ratstar didn't have a good track record with Deputies, but Wolfsong was a strong cat, the clan had faith in her.
Ten calm moons went by, life was good. But then Wolfsong suddenly disappeared. She never came back to her nest, and she never said goodbye to anyone she loved. Ratstar didn't care, he assumed she died and named a new Deputy to get it over with.
Some cats of the clan wanted to help comfort the children of the lost Deputy. They told her they knew exactly how she felt and how they had the same thing happen to them. They all told her about their grandparents dying from old age, or cats they knew dying after weeks of showing gravely dangerous symptoms, to which they would start crying and she had to comfort them. None of these instances were the same as what she was going through, all these cats were ones where there was a sign that something was to come, and then they made her grieving process all about themselves.
During this lowest time for her, she preferred to spend time by herself. She loathed any time someone talked to her, they spoke like they didn't know how to make her feel better, but expected their words to magically give her strength. It didn't work, and she quietly resented those who turned her grief into a chance for them to look like a hero.
It was hard for her to adapt back to "normal", mostly because of cats either treating her like she didn't know how to take care of herself, or cats just not understanding how shock and grief isn't something you can schedule. She and her siblings didn't spend as much time with each other as before; they didn't grow apart, they just grew up and handled the loss differently. Beeleaf spent a lot of time with Honeyheart, it made her feel normal.
Some time later, another cat died, a cat she didn't know. Why is it important? That cat wasn't well liked, the only one who missed them was their Apprentice, Brownpaw. Again, the clan didn't know how to handle the grieving Apprentice; some gave false promises of knowing how they felt when they didn't, some said it was good they left. Brownpaw was driven ahead and named Brownweasel against their wishes. Beeleaf, seeing how terrible the clan was acting once again, stepped up to help the young Warrior. She comforted Brownweasel and told them that they didn't know exactly how they felt, but they would be there for them even when the clan was being stupid. She didn't want to be the hero, she just wanted Brownweasel to not have to have the same awful grieving experience that she had.
TL;DR:
Owlseed died the day she became a Warrior.
Mother is named Deputy.
Wolfsong disappeared one day, it was assumed she died.
