Description I just wanted to try out the ancient Greek red figure style of depicting a heroic Greek character facing the Straight-Tusked Elephant, Palaeoloxodon antiquus.

Make of whatever character this is if you will: Hercules, Prometheus, Jason, Achilles, whatever. I should also note I was originally going to use a mammoth, as this was suppose to be based in an alternate history where ice age animals didn't go extinct, but then I remembered P.antiquus which was also an ice age animal, one that could thrive in warmer habitats in Europe, even though the species went extinct before the Ice Age even ended...

Finding a name for this creature was tricky since I wanted to name it the same way how other monstrous animals were named: Calydonian Boar, Cretan Boar, or Nemean Lion or something like that; I was gonna go for "Sicilian Elephant" as a nod to the pygmy elephants of Sicily, P. falconeri, the species which skull may have influenced the myth of the Cyclops, but of course P. antiquus was a much bigger animal so I thought I'd give it a name that would match it's shere size like Apollonia.

I probably should've added more detail for it to stand out, like some background shots or written scribes above and below the image like on a vase or a tapestry, but this was my first time making something like this; either way I hope to refine it in the future.

I was wondering if you could let me us this image for an Android game called "Kingdoms of Myth", it's turn based strategy game based on a fantasy World. You can find a little bit more info in this rough website made by my colleges lifeisinfinity.eu5.org/infinit… (Sorry for the bad English). Of course you will have full credits of your work and link to your webpage if you want

actually, there could conceivably have been "Apollonian elephants". Apollonia was a Greek city built somewhere in present-day Albania, which wasn't very far from Epirus. And Pyrrhus, king of Epirus, maintained a small force of combat elephants ( which were a nasty surprise to the Romans when he went to Italy and fought them )

Oh man, why were people in various mythologies always killing every giant Animals which are thought to be Monsters? I really hate those concepts a lot.
