Yeah, I'm really surprised that there isn't more slash-themed artwork for this show. The show is really gay, especially with Finn/Jake, and, in some aspects, Ice King/Finn.
I mean, the kid flips the shit whenever someone even tries to touch Jake. There's also the comment of, "WE'RE HOME AS LONG AS WE'RE TOGETHER!! BLOP-BLEEP-BLOOP, REMEMBER?!"

Well... this was the start of a beautiful friendship...but alas.
Seriously though, if you've only seen one episode, it's hard to say you don't like something. It's really easy to fall in love with the characters once you get into seasons 2 and 3. I say giver it another go!
And yes, Home Movies is great, but completely different.

I have a bias against Metalocalypse, because it, to me, seemed alot darker than Home Movies was. Home Movies captivated me. When I heard that the same creator was making something new, I looked forward to it, only to find out that seemed much darker than what I was used to from Brendon Small. And, for some reason, it frightened me, so I stayed away from it.
Don't get me wrong: I like dark themes, but to have a person go from something that's not dark to something that is... It throws me off; And, not in a good way. Do you understand?
I'll give it another shot, though, for sure. I'm past my obsessive Home Movies phase, and I have been for atleast a year.
I still like you, though. You seem like a pretty cool person. ^^ I hope that we can still get to know one-another.

Yes, it is a lot darker. When Brenden talked about doing another show, he said that he wanted to move in a completely different direction that Home Movies, which had pastel colors and softer music. He didn't want to be like the next Seth McFarlane and create the same show over and over.
Plus... I think he had the secret dream of being in a metal band. Which totally came true, I love Dethklok and I can't wait until they tour again!
But it's cool, to each their own.
All I know is that I almost pissed my pants over the new season.
But yeah dude, I wasn't serious when I was like "friendship = GONE." Haha...
