Description

My submission to 's contest of giving shinobi from Naruto their own zanpakutou. Originally, it was suppose to be just Kakashi, but the fangirl in me put Iruka in there as well. Luckily, there are 2 entries max per contestant.

Below are the details:

Kakashi’s Zanpakutou
Name: Chidori (Thousand Birds)
Type: Lightning
Release: Sonaeru (Sacrifice)
Bankai: Raikiri (Lightning Edge)
Abilities

---Shikai: In its Shikai, Chidori's blade becomes engulfed in electricity, only to separate into a thousand slender, tiny blade fragments. The blades are supposedly too small to be seen normally, but discharge a voltage in such a way as to appear as birds even to the point of emitting a chirp-like sound. Kakashi can control the blade fragments at will, allowing him to slice opponents at a distance and break through most defenses.

---Bankai: To activate it, Kakashi calls back the blade fragments. The fragments gather together to form a pack of eight ‘dogs.’ Like in shikai, Kakashi is able to order each ‘dog’ to attack his enemies.

Tsuiga: Bringing the blade fragments in, Kakashi is able to form a giant, electric ‘dog’ at his right hand and is able to unleash it upon his opponents. While attacking, there is still a ‘leash’ that attaches the ‘dog’ back to Kakashi’s hand.

Kamui: Kakashi condenses each and every single one of his blades into a single, area, drastically increasing its cutting power. The spiritual energy and pressure of this form released is immense. Any opponent dragged into the area is shredded into nothing.

Iruka’s Zanpakutou
Name: Harusame (Gentle Spring Rain)
Type: Water
Release: Shigure (Drizzle)
Bankai: Harusame Arashi No Ato (Gentle Spring Rain After the Storm)
Abilities

---Shikai: In its Shikai, Harusame looks like a standard katana with its ability lying in the manipulation of water. When the katana is swung, the blade seemingly appears to flow like ripples in water. Harusame’s blade actually becomes water. It is restricted based on the amount of reiatsu Iruka is able to gather.

Ameashi: Iruka swings his zanpakutou, forcing the water blade to jot out thousand of rain-like projectiles toward the opponent.

Amenochiyuki: Iruka prolongs the length of his zanpakutou and slashes the enemy with it. The area where Harusame had made contact instantly freezes. Iruka is able to control the time the ice stays frozen and when released, the ice reverts back to water.

Amayoke: A defensive ability, Harusame’s blade forms a water shield in front of Iruka. The shield is able to easily block a direct attack but quickly disperses and returns to the tsuba.

---Bankai: To activate it, Iruka grabs the hilt of his zanpakutou with both of his hands. He tears it apparent and the katana splits into two, becoming tiger hook swords, chained together at the end of their hilts. Dark clouds start to form above, providing access to more water. Iruka has a stronger control over water, being able to conjure up floods, rain, and more. He can even draw out water nearby, whether it is from plants or even straight from the air, and send it crashing toward opponents. It is weakest in dry areas.

Yeah, for me, whenever I do a crossover or AU, I like to take things from the character and fit it into the AU, which is why Kakashi's zanpakutou is based of his trademark Chidori and dogs. As for Iruka's, thought it would be a little silly to do something dolphin so I did something gentle, so he was born in Spring and thought water fit him best.

Please don't trust me with the Japanese >< And I know that lieutenants typically don't know their Bankai but it's part of the rules that a Bankai was given. Plus, who says Iruka can't be badass? lol

If you're wondering which squad they would under, it's up to you. That's why I kept their numbers hidden. But if I had to choose one, based on the personalities of the real squads' captains and lieutenants, they would be in the 8th division since I can see Kakashi being as laid back as Shunsui and Iruka trying to keep him in line like Nanao.

And I will say making these were fun, so I may make more crossovers...
