All done in Corel Painter, no pre-sketching, and no using Photoshop for the photo editing in the background, which was a first for me.

I've been drawing Mildmay having just discovered the books and fallen pretty hard for him - colors in this are great - pastels? colored pencil? both? This looks to me like Felix maybe when he first came to Malkar ... before that gentleman polished him up, as it were :/

Oh my goodness. This is absolutely amazing. Usually when you see Doctrine art, tone or both brothers are just standing about, but this.... this is really, really cool. Makes me want to reread the books again. In fact..... may be I will!
