So this is a very belated critique for Mocris , given in congratulations for participating in this year's DDSuggestionDrive . I must apologise it's taken so long for me to get round to this, with Easter being early this year it's completely wiped out my April schedule.
It was very difficult for me to choose which of your work to look at as you have such a varied oeuvre. Whilst I was really taken with your photographic macro studies (the butterflies in particular) I know next to nothing about the technical aspects of taking such pictures, so it seemed a bit pointless for me to say anything about them
I settled on this piece in the end as of your other work it immediately caught my eye and was one I kept returning to as I browsed your gallery. So I thought I'd try and talk about why, and let that stand hopefully as a satisfactory crit of what you've produced here.
Reading the comments below I'm agree completely with the sense that it's unusual to find something that combines the feels of 'warmth' and 'creepy' that you've achieved here. I'm inclined to agree with Fran-Photo that it's the shape of your fingers that does the trick
I also like the use of the wall as background. It's better than a smooth surface, adding interest to the piece without detracting from the main focus.
I'm not entirely certain I can suggest anything really that would improve the piece beyond a few aesthetic things that I might have done differently myself, such as a different holder for the candle (or indeed a different candle altogether). Possibly the addition of a halo effect of some sort? Though I'm not entirely certain how this would be introduced. Certainly from a framing point of view it would be hard to trump what you have done here.
So I think that's it. Do feel free to give me a shout if you'd like to know anything further? Or if you want me to expand on any of the above. Cheers and congratulations once again

Yes, the setting was intentional. I know that my hands/fingers look creepy, was told that more than once, and I thought, in combination with fire it could look interesting. The rest of the requisites, like the holder of the candle and the background was what I had at home...
