Well, the all mighty leviathan is a powerfull beast of the bible. God created two of them, but killed one of them himself, because they could destroy everything he made. This creatures was describe as a mix of crocodile, dragon, fish/whale and snake...so the most pics of him look like sea snakes or wyrms. I personally think that the people of this time just saw a special whale and so they got inspired...but that's just my personal theory (I think I'm talking to much^^)
