You should read the books that Ron Hubbard wrote before he started making religions. His books used to be sci-fi masterpieces. And still are.
Other than that, I like this, but the pilot in the cockpit stands out too little from the cockpit to make the scene obvious in 1 short view.
The perspective is executed very well though.
