Description Well, I finally submitted my entry for the Mecha Design Competition. Bet you were worried! XXD Due to anoying Photoshop and a dysfunctional tablet/pen, it is done 100% traditionally with 7mm pencil, a Sakura Colours 005mm pen, and about four different Grey Prizma Colour markers. Anyway, here is some background data.

Nightmare Frame "Samudra" (Hindi for Water)

Developed in the Militarized Zone of India, for use by aces of the Black Nights. The Samudra type is designed to mainly counter large equipment and structures, although it can hold it's own against nearly any Nightmare type. Using micro vibrations, it can move through nearly any surface with ease (as well as ammunition) making it invulnerable to many attacks. Although the Samudra is venerable to energy type weapons, it has ample mobility, is equipped with a limited energy defense system, and can be equipped with an Integrated Air Glide Wing System. The Samudra's main weapons are the Jala Vasha (hindi for liquid fists). A weapon that uses micro vibrations to essentially "liquidate" its target. Its secondary weapon is Direct Particle Shell cannon, which uses chemical energy stored in shell casings for ammunition, instead of taking energy directly from its generators. Making the Samudra, a highly adaptable frame.

Unfortunately the Samudra never made to the Black Nights, due to Britannian Navy Patrols. However, there are rumors of a rouge group within the U.F.N. obtaining great victories against the Brits, using a mysterious silver Nightmare. Maybe if karma allows, the Samudra will return to its intended recipients. XXD

Edit- This was submitted for Ryuuhiken's contest a while back, not for anything in mecha designers.

If you ever watched Code Geass, you would understand that all those mecha have some ridiculous energy source that doesn't really make sense, but solves everybody's problems. And he can still shoot you or punch you or whatever, he would just be more vulnerable to your attacks. xD

Haha, I prefer wheeled mecha anyway.

I like those mecha without wheels, i dunno why lol personal preference

ModalMechanica In reply to Mrkirby2 [2010-08-16 02:37:11 +0000 UTC]

Haha, wheels (in the feet) just add a certain element of mobility and like simplicity. Idk, I just like the way they move better, more like rollerblading

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mrkirby2 In reply to ModalMechanica [2010-08-16 17:37:18 +0000 UTC]

lol but i always thought that the feet would get badly burned XD or damage somehow by the wheels. and wheels are more for urban type i think

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Mrkirby2 [2010-08-16 20:46:48 +0000 UTC]

Well the type of wheel would depend on terrain. Probably wouldnt use the same for an urban setting than you would use for a desert setting.

(mmmm been away for long time i have)

but what if their were like in jungle forest? jungle is kinda mud and rock and rivers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Mrkirby2 [2010-09-03 16:07:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, just walking would probably be best for the jungle, but in contamination with some large wheels or something, it could be pretty effective

Rabadenzo [2009-02-13 18:18:36 +0000 UTC]

hmmm.... doesn't the liquid fist destroy the robot itsself too?
traditional styled robots are more realistic than photoshopped ones, simply because mechanical and technical plans are made with computers already, and this way, the robot seems to have some rough edges and scratches, wich makes it look like it's been through a few fights already, instead of the digital art robots wich seem to have rolled out of factories because they're looking so fresh

ModalMechanica In reply to Rabadenzo [2009-02-14 00:33:23 +0000 UTC]

I know what you mean, however, I know some pro's that can do some pretty convincing things. As for the Jala Vasha, they either use a directional wave, or the main part of the fist is not necessarily directly attached to the rest of the mech.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rabadenzo In reply to ModalMechanica [2009-02-14 18:43:29 +0000 UTC]

or they use short-range waves send from a projectile

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

ModalMechanica In reply to Rabadenzo [2009-02-15 04:00:41 +0000 UTC]

wait... from a projectile?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rabadenzo In reply to ModalMechanica [2009-02-15 16:48:08 +0000 UTC]

it's the easiest way not to destroy himself while doing a liquid fist

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Rabadenzo [2009-02-15 22:19:45 +0000 UTC]

I dnont know, the whole idea of the liquid fist was the fist part the close combat part.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rabadenzo In reply to ModalMechanica [2009-02-16 17:50:07 +0000 UTC]

but elsewise, others will just take the same armour as he has for protecting from the liquid fist?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Rabadenzo [2009-02-16 19:30:04 +0000 UTC]

No, he doesn't actually have an armor for that, It's an invisible energy wave that doesn't actually affect the Nightmare.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rabadenzo In reply to ModalMechanica [2009-02-16 19:54:27 +0000 UTC]

that seems pretty much impossible if you ask me, although, if he can do a liquid fist by grabbing someone, he could center those energywaves by sending it from all it's fingers, so let's say that you need 5 of those energywaves to actually destroy something, and they're extremely shortrange, then he could destroy something by wrapping his hand around it, send 5 waves from 5 different parts of his hand and liquidfy the unlucky soul who is at the place where the 5 waves come together

ModalMechanica In reply to Rabadenzo [2009-02-16 20:19:24 +0000 UTC]

Well code geass is pretty out there to begin with any way. lol But the weapon was always super close range combat. But its actually more of a field than a wave. So yeah...

Rabadenzo In reply to ModalMechanica [2009-02-16 20:25:46 +0000 UTC]
