Could I have permission to model this?

go for it!

So it has a cylindrical magazine? I've always wondered how those work. And does it fire regular or caseless rounds?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Great-5 [2011-02-04 01:39:57 +0000 UTC]

Never decided, probably traditional ammunition though. I'm not quite sure if caseless was ever really proven be that much better. Could be wrong though.

Great-5 In reply to ModalMechanica [2011-02-04 01:42:43 +0000 UTC]

I tend to like giving my guns caseless ammo for that futuristic touch, but yeah, the only real advantages are it's lighter, potentially cheaper to make (no more hammering out brass cartridges) and uses simpler firing systems. Most of my "conventional" guns use caseless ammunition and electronic ignition.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Great-5 [2011-02-04 02:11:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh, didnt know it was cheaper, thought it'd be more expensive for whatever reason. I guess the only issue is that the industry doesnt want to switch to them yet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Great-5 In reply to ModalMechanica [2011-02-04 02:58:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah well then there's the issue with "cooking off" which is basically the premature firing of rounds inside the chamber due to high temperatures. The brass cartridge of a conventional round would absorb the heat and act as a heat sink, getting rid of a lot of the danger. It CAN, however, be mitigated with electronic ignition.

Of course I go way too far and don't just equip my guns with caseless ammo and electronic actions, I also make all of them use tracer ammunition and come equipped with advanced suppressors which give the gun the stereotypical silencer noise you hear in movies, which sounds sorta like a laser. In reality, suppressed don't work that well, and suppressed guns don't sound nearly as cool in real life as they do in the movies, but I can justify that by my universe being in the future, where suppressor technology has advanced so much that it's standard equipment on all guns.

All guns in my universe also use tracers because of a (fictional) international treaty forcing all sides to use tracers to A: warn civilians to keep away from warzones, and B: to even up the fight and make things more fair. Of course I just like using tracers together with movie-style cuppressors to make all guns look and sound like sci-fi lasers!

ModalMechanica In reply to Great-5 [2011-02-04 03:05:35 +0000 UTC]

Ahh I see, yeah I knew that silencers dont really silence at all lol. And the tracer thing is a good idea I suppose. No shooting in the future would be best of course xD

Pretty cool, though the magazine shouldn't be covered like that, unless it has some function?

uhhm, i was thinking it was some sort of cylindrical magazine if you know what I mean

Bullpup design? Nice! I like that solid squared look to it. I may use this design in some of my own work. (that is if you don't mind.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Koyote042 [2010-08-13 21:07:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, go for it XD

As long as you dont make money off it, that is xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Koyote042 In reply to ModalMechanica [2010-08-16 07:28:14 +0000 UTC]

Well the odds of that happening are nil since I wanna use it for one of my fan characters. Secondly, if for whatever reason something I made gets sold for cash and it has some of your work in it, I will make damned sure you get compensated and then some. but again nil chance of that. LoL

What where you thinking?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Koyote042 In reply to ModalMechanica [2010-08-18 00:12:04 +0000 UTC]

More like either extending the boxiness of the gun itself or the barrel, probably the gun itself because the whole thing looks sweet. Also I would add a scope.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ModalMechanica In reply to Koyote042 [2010-08-18 00:42:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I think I would extend the body, but like remove the top rail thing, or perhaps slim it down a bit.

Thanks ^ ^ Yeah, its a bulpup, and lol I guess I should have explained it, but the rifle uses a sort of cylindrical drum mag, that is held into the bottom of the stock by as sort of latch. And dude, you have some interesting weapon designs. Also I noticed you airsoft, I bet I could kick you ass at both XD

Awesome Design, I would like to use it in my Shadowrun Pen and Paper group.

German is my native language so i had to laugh a bit about the name.

You spelled Exaktheit wrong and the word you were looking for is PrΓ€zision as it means precision. The Word Exakt or Exaktheit are used when drawing geometric stuff, house plans or such things.

Take a look at weapon manufacturers from german speaking countries like Heckler & Koch, Glock, Steyr. You will realise that naming a Gun like this is extremely...uhm....Ungerman.

To say it again: I love the Design but the name is terrible.

ahah thanks mate, I guess i should never trust google translate again >__>

But yeah, go ahead and use it, and feel free to change the name! XD

ItΒ΄s been a wile since i was online the last Time, so i Checked my Messages and was happy to see that i could help you a little bit.
German can be a beast of a Language, especially for non natives but i know (or think to know) that Japanese People really like the Sound of it, also they seem to use it when naming things like Mechs and Guns, the Results are sometimes horrible.

So if you like to give your Art german Names, feel free to write me a Message, i would be happy to help you with German related Problems.

haha, thanks, that could come in real handy, as any native speaker of anything would know, its always annoying to see something in they're language thats just wrong. So your help would be much appreciated XD
