The Elder sat before the bonfire, surrounded by the young Matoran and Agori, telling them stories of power, heroism, and virtue, and not least of these stories was of a Toa from a parallel world named Matoro. "...and Matoro donned the Mask of Life, giving up his own to restore Mata Nui. But this is where his world and ours diverge. In our world, Matoro became pure energy, and could not be revived by the Red Star. In the other world, Matoro was also turned to energy, but Mata Nui acted quick, before Teridax could take control of the Universe from him. He gave Matoro a new body, new life, and restored his spirit to his body. When the Battle of Bara Magna began, Matoro was one of the first to fall. I had been in his world for some time, and it pained me to watch him die. With his last vestige of life, he entrusted his mask to me, and I have kept it with me for the past thousand years." One of the young Agori raised their hand. "Elder Brutaka, where do you keep his mask?" A sad smile played over Brutaka's maskless face. "I locked it away a long time ago to protect it from thieves. It began to rust, but Turaga Dume provided me with a mask to repair it and keep it in top condition. Now, it probably needs a thorough restoration."
An hour later, Brutaka returned to his hut and slowly made his way to the secret panel in his floor. Using his staff, Brutaka lifted the panel away from the floor and took the compartment's contents out. It was Matoro's Kanohi Tryna, covered entirely in rust. He hobbled over to the shelf where he stored the mask Dume gave him and donned the Kanohi Kiril. He focused its power on the Tryna, and the rust began to change, returning to its silvery protodermis form. With infinite care, Brutaka returned the mask to the hidden compartment and sealed it for the next hundred years.
