It was already clear who Modus is as Final Fantasy characters... but what about Opera?

Rove is definitely a Noctis, a traveler by foot, a sword fighter, and just a cool guy in general.
Darren seems to be an obvious Squall, quiet, solemn, and would narrate everything happening around him in his head.
Flow seems to be a fitting Terra, mystical, exotic, and pretty curious about the new world she finds herself in.
Mikota is probably a Yuna, polite, law-abiding, tied by duties and weights of her past.

Modus's respective Final Fantasy characters had a big influence on who they've become.

Sometime before Modus was formed, there was an older group known as Auxante. Lightning and Hope were a part of it.
Lightning and Hope sensed that they had to go, so Hope passed his neckerchief over to Hate.
Hate inherited it with pride, and continues to follow by Hope's example today.
And thus Hate, just like Hope, started off drowning in vengeance. He then learned to let go. Later on, Hate spends his time gathering knowledge for Modus, similar to what Hope did for the Academy.

At the same time, Lightning asked Stone to take care of Hate like she would Hope. Stone, unsure of the heavy request of being a strong woman like Lightning, hesitated.
Note that this is the Lightning we see at the end of Lightning Returns. This Lightning returned to the Dreamworld to use magic again out of nostalgia. In reality, Lightning was happy in the new world with Hope and all of her friends.
With a softer heart, Lightning smiled at Stone, and took her hand. Even if you're not strong, Lightning may've told her, please stay by Hate's side.
Stone, following by Lightning's example, would be more proactive than before, but also somewhat impatient if her peers are slow. Stone is a practical person, thanks to Lightning.

Moving on to Carol, she has always looked up to Tifa from the very start. Carol learned self-defense, boxing and karate to try to be like Tifa. Both of them beautiful, talkative, and adored by many.
Next to Carol is Pitt, who was heavily based on Cloud. Full of doubt, hiding weaknesses, and actually initially left home to try to become stronger for the ones he cares about. And similar to Cloud, Pitt returned home with none of his expectations met. The whole experience left him sad and broken.

And that explains why Pitt calls Carol "Tifa" and Carol calls Pitt "Cloud" when they're alone together. It's a special bond.
