Description
Univers Zero - Jack The Ripper (d/l song here: [link] )2nd Nosferatu Man
3st href="https://www.deviantart.com/deviation/43527952/">Rorschach
===
This is precisly how I imagine the scene would have been. Jack with a cold and emotionless facial expression slithering from the shadows to attack his victim. It's scary becuase he didnt feel anything in the process, that level of inhumanity freezes the blood in me.
This is a copy of the "Ripper Letters", one of three letters sent to Scotland Yard presumably by Jack himself. Entitled; From Hell([link] ):
From hell.
Mr Lusk,

The first piece in a new series; Telegraphs in Neagtive / mounths trapped in static. This will be a surreal/abstract/horror series dedicated primarly to one of the most magnificent and inspiring surreal painters of all time; Francis Bacon.
oh and listening to the song isnt simply recommended, it's MANDATORY. Though I'm not responsible for any nightmares that might occur. No, I'm not kidding about this. This a brutally horrifying recording and I wash my hands clean from any negative results you might endure from it.
EDIT: entering this in the Spook Me contest

Finally! A picture of him that doesn't style him as the stereotypical topper (meaning a gentleman wearing a tophat and tails) waving a knife around! I like this view of him. Much closer to what he must really have looked like (though it's thought he was older than that); after all, all of Whitechapel was on the lookout for him, he could hardly have made himself obvious. The poor unfortunates, god rest them, thought him just another customer until it was too late.
As you can no doubt tell from my name and avvie, I happen to know a thing or two about the man, so the fact that I've graced your picture with a view and a says a good bit. (Er, that sounded conceited. It wasn't supposed to. XP lol sorry *looks sheepish*) Until just recently, I had the 'Five Little Whores' poem that was (mistakenly) attributed to him as my sig, but my mother saw it and vehemently protested until I changed it, so now it's Abney Park.
Thanks for the tip on the Univers Zero song - I like it quite a bit. Your link didn't actually work, but I looked it up all the same and I'm listening to it now. It's a complex and lovely bit of work and I'm always on the lookout for songs about him. Another good one is the eponymous song by Morrissey. I think it captures quite a bit of his character. AFI also covered it, I think, but their version isn't anywhere near as good as the original, though I suppose that's a matter of taste (don't bother listening to the My Chemical Romance version of it, as it consists of drunken yelling. Not that I know your musical tastes, but even if you did happen to be an MCR fan, which I am not, I think you could hardly enjoy it. Again, just IMHO). You can find the Morissey version here: [link]
If you (or anybody else) want to share songs either directly or indirectly about him, note me!
Not sure I feel entirely comfortable marking this as a considering the subject matter, but I suppose I will anyway and trust you to know that it's merely your skill in portraying this piece and not approval of the man himself, as the photo is *very* well executed and implemented and is extremely effective. I get an extreme feeling of not only haunting the dark alone, but not fearing the dark, letting it hide him, as, of course, he must have done. Such emotion - I get a sense of expectancy and arrogance, as in the song: 'Oh, no-one knows a thing about my life, I can come and go as I please. Ah, if I want to I can stay, and if I want to I can leave; nobody knows me, nobody knows me...' And all these years later, we still don't!
Overall, great work, very evocative and a well-deserved .
Thanks for sharing this piece and have a very good rest of your day!

This print is amazing. I just finished reading a book about Jack the Ripper. This was the best view anyone got of him besides his victims. I love it....

I love it. I just saw From Hell for the first time, and your work absolutely gives justice at The Ripper character.
I would love to see a painting of this on the wall, an entire black filled wall with his white shape (real scale) coming from the shadow. That would give me nightmares.

it was pretty simple really. I got a few of my sister's black skirts and i nailed them to the wall, then covered most of my face and body with a similiar black shade of scarf. The light reflected on my face, and after a few burn and adjustments in PS this was the result

this is grand. and i very much appreciate you putting the from hell letter with it. I feel slightly disgraced when people post a picture or cartoon of "jack the ripper" without knowing any background and such...very grand indeed.

He's one of the most engmatic characters humanity has ever know, and his entire surrondings are intruging to say the least. I totally agree on how disappointing it is when someone decepts him in a cartoonish manner. This man was quite possibly the most sadistic yet sad soul.
have you read the comic From Hell? The movie is based on it, but just as the cause is with many book/comic to movie adaptions, the movie took so many liberties and al the briliance was lost.
Thank you very mush for your comment mate, I greatly apreciate it and I'm happy you enjoyed it this much
