A title with the most 'T's ever!

This picture is a scene of my own story 'How to Live a Dragon's Life.' It's the part where Hiccup (who has changed into a Night Fury) meets two terrible terror's, named Lickeye, the yellow one, and Picknose, the blue one. I must say that I actually am not terribly fond of the names I gave them anymore, but oh well!

This is the scene where the two little dragons are sitting on Hiccup’s hind paws (he has been turned into a dragon by the Gods). Hiccup had tumbled off a cliff when trying to escape the residents of his village, and lost consciousness. The chattering of the two dragons had woken him up.

I had a lot of trouble coloring this picture since I don't have a lot of knowledge about the color theory and what kind of colors I should use during night scenes. But Bluedramon, Kanda and Contraltissimo gave me very helpful tutorials and/or tips. And I actually learned a bit more about picking the right colors for night scenes. So thanks for helping me out guys!

Okay, it's a bit cheating, but it did help me learn how to shade my characters, though there are probably numerous mistakes to be found. Also went a bit crazy with the highlights.
I just want to grow as an artist since I am hoping to be accepted in an animation school soon. I'm getting pretty nervous! I need to draw less fan art and more real-life art to help me improve with my pictures.
