Description
Who/What: 梅芳街 Mui Fong StreetSize: 11.75" x 15.75"
Time taken: 14+ hours
Tools: Acrylic Paint and Paintbrushes
Comments: A re-make of an unknown artist. Sort of like an acrylic version of my usual style. Only black, white and blue is used in this piece, therefore making it look like a sketch.

The fact that this is done in cool dark shades adds huge dimension to the subject matter - the congestion of the street and building, the hard work and the hungry, restricted existence of the people in it; it's really a serious, insightful statement - good call keeping the color scheme low.

Haha, thanks so much. The original piece was filled with colour, but was done in the 80s, so they probably didn't consider the architecture old at that time.
I think I've found my style in acrylic to perform like a sketch, thanks again and feel free to browse my other works.

This reminds me a lot of the apartment Valse Triste from Bruno Bozetto.
If you haven't seen that video, it's really...good (Here's the [link] ...ignore the first 15 seconds).

ah, poor condition structures. unfortunately, that's what the buildings looked like in Hk in 1987, from the reference.
