This 大天狗 although in Japanese folklore, is often similar to a mini-god possessing the ability to fly, physical strength, and wind judging from the large fan. Tengu are sworn enemies of the Buddhist faith, swaying people off the road of enlightenment. However, in this artwork the Tengu is has the characteristics of sincerity through having white illuminating hair and placing the Ko Tengu mask away his trickster facial expression. In addition, the contrast of darker colors in the background the red depicts the "Land of the Rising Sun" towards the center of attention is the character and his overwhelming power. Holding grudges once he becomes angry and makes whirlwinds. Overall, it gives a warning of "Don't mess with me."
