I think the two Silver's personalities and their backstories are completely different so they make them two people. But they both play the same role with similar pokemon... I don't know, I haven't read the manga XD

I know. And I find the reaction over Yellow in the Final Battle with the Masked Man so funny. Gold's flipping out cause Yellow's a whole year older than him and Red's embarrassed cause he just found out Yellow's a girl AND Misty calls Erika's Pokegear which Red has so they start talking and then Blue/Green brings up the living together gag. Ahh how the mini reunion goes is just so funny.
