This is an Ara Macao, the national bird of my country, Honduras. It's a beautiful tropical bird from the family of the parrots, and, when I was a younger child, they were quite common on the virgin forests of Honduras. However, with the reduction of their habitat, the Guacamayo, or papagallo, or simply the lora has become a rare finding.

This is a painting done with lots of love toward animals, considering that the only specimens I get to see of them are held captive as pets. This is so cruel, I wish I could free them all...But I know they would have no chances of surviving on the wild. Besides, If I freed them, they would only get caught again and sold at even high prices.

Please, help these creatures! Don't buy exotic animals!
