Okay, so... this is my contribution to the meme.

Basically, I made this solely for observing my own progress.

These pics are some of my OCs before I started vectoring.

When I first started, I'd use the creator for the sake of getting the idea of what the character should look like. When I improved in vectoring, I abandoned the creator completely.

There are more creator ponies than the ones I've put here, but I either:
a) haven't made the vector equivalent
b) didn't put them here because they were commissions, aka, other people's ponies

Let's go through each character's explanation:

1. Pennywhistle Heartstrings - Lyra's mom....okay...nothing much to say about her, I've overdone it with the outfit on the creator and on my work, I should've added glasses, but I was too lazy XD

2. Lady Starlight of Cloudsdale - Ruler of Cloudsdale and Commander Hurricane's descendant, this one actually had about 3 redesigns before turning into what she is today. At this point, I've started creating my own cutie marks in Photoshop(hence why the creator has it).

Yeah, back then I even had her regal attire in mind. Honestly, not making her pink is the best decision of my life.

At this point, I tried to find a color scheme that would make her ladylike, but still make her appear intimidating and strong(she was influenced by lady Eboshi from Princess Mononoke and Lin Bei Fong from Legend of Korra, in my opinion, one of the best tough female characters out there that combined both beauty and attitude). Since I also had Commander Hurricane's design in mind, I wanted Starlight to resemble him more in color, which I always imagined as blue.

3. Leandros - my main OC's dad(to sum up, he's a Tartarus pony, they have eyes and ears like Luna's guards and they all bear Latin names), clearly, he had a really big redesign from his old self. He's supposed to be a weather engineer and his old design made him look too...how do I put it...warrior-ish. XD
I used his warrior-style for his father who is a retired drill sargeant.

4. Flame Wielder - the other main OC, as you can see here, he's much shorter and bulkier, also I didn't put him his outfit; I do plan on making him mage attire in the future, but it'll look much better than this piece of shit from the creator. In hindsight, this picture I gave of him is a bad example because I actually gave him a shorter horn in his other artworks(this is my first portrayal of him), but nevermind, you get the idea.

5. Kinnor Heartstrings - Lyra's ancestor who used to live during the early years of Equestria(he's as old as Commander Hurricane and the others), basically, not much change here, he looks more serious on the right and I just changed the string color of his cutie mark to match his eyes.

6.Dante - ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, my ponysona, the most uncreative character in the entire Internet. He's a half Tartarian(his mother ([link] ) is a regular pony, that's why he lacks the ears). Clearly, you can see that he's less evil-looking in his redesign and that he's much shorter with smaller wings. I also got rid of his white hooves(simplified it, also, he looks less evil now). The point of his redesign is that I didn't want to make an evil pony, he's a dorky, clumsy teacher(the armor is a plot-device for the upcoming fanfic) and, despite having a color scheme of an emo disney villain, he iss supposed to look sweet & pleasant.

Now to explain his colors. He's my first pony character, which is very obvious. Back then I thought I was creative for making him "dark and edgy"....I have never been so wrong(picture Thorin hugging Bilbo XD). Now, after making more creative and unique designs, I've decided to keep Dante's design and ironically make his special talent to be creativity. XD

Now, in hindsight, isn't he more memorable like this? I could have redesigned him into something like this [link] , which would make all of my fans happier, he'd look the part of a dorky teacher and he'd attract a wider number of fans. Bronies I know really hate Dante's design, some chick even downright insulted him, saying "Eeeeeeeeeew, that's disgusting, get rid of him immediately. He's an abomination." Thank you, Ines, for your kind words and for inspiring me to keep his design for the sake of trolling bronies. XD

Fun Fact: I'm an huge attention whore when it comes to my work. Whenever I meet new bronies, I always show them my work. And first I show them designs they might like. Starlight is always the first since her design is universally praised. After showing all those universally "pretty ponies", I say: "Now, for my favorite pony I've ever made..." and they become psyched and anticipate the Mona Lisa of OCs, something so great and epic that will blow their minds; I show them Dante. XD

Now, usually, Dante's reception is always negative, unless the viewer made something even crappier(trust me, there are many examples, so I'll sum it up: basically every pony that looks darker than Dante, every alicorn OC and, let's not mention my favorite, the biggest piece of shit Mary-Sue OC that I will never consider to be good or creative or even worth my time; Alicorn that's related to either Luna or Celestia, even worst is when they don't even have their colors and if they have a really stupid name, like Miss Lovely(I'm sorry for offending you if you're reading this, but yeah...it's true XD), they've hit rock bottom) and then they believe that Dante is the most creative thing ever.

Final Verdict:
Yes, Dante has a crappy design, a crappy name and an even crappier cutie mark. His design doesn't belong in the MLP universe and is an insult to the fandom(though, I've seen worst XD). But...he is my pony, my first OC, my favorite OC. If you hate this character, then congratulations, you get the point. XD
