well, yeah, I mostly use vectors


to be precise, this isn't professionally a vector, it's just a tracing

a real vector is made in adobe illustrator

the upcoming one, pallet pony, will be made in illustrator(if I learn how to use the damn thing XD)

i find a pose, let's say, big mac

I use the pose as a reference and I trace the body in photoshop and make customizeable colors for eyes, coat color and outline

then I turn it into a base(since I don't upload them anymore, I'll show you an example of an older one)

after that, I decide on which colors should I use(if I'm coming up with a new OC)

then I start adding parts of mane or a tail from other pony pictures
for example, this one uses rainbow dash's mane shape, but my colors

or this one, he uses lyra's tail shape, but only 2 colors

then I do the same to the mane by turning it into a customizable color

then I design a cutie mark
for that I either use an already existing shape or I edit some of the older cutie marks
for example, this cutie mark is a combination of trixie's and a tornado cutie mark for the cutie pocks episode

when I'm done with all that, I add the horn or wings, but never both unless it's a commission(if the character is a pegasus or a unicorn)

then, if necessary I add clothing or armor(the armor reference is a royal guard while the wing thingy and the goggles come from the hub pony creator)
