Description
I was bored at the end of the rally so I decided to practice my panning technique.I was shooting 70mm started at 1/125th then working my way down to 1/15th.

I prefer about 1/50 or 1/100 for fast movers, but even 250 aint bad. problem with 1/15 is if you actually got some real action, it wouldn't be very good pictures.
anyways, great shot, panning is a great skill to have, and always needs improving

I generally would use about 1/200 ~ 1/100th I was just using 1/15th outta boredom there wasnt anything likely to happen on this corner and there was a telegraph pole in the middle of the shot.

I had a pole ruin several good pictures for me at oregon trail this year. I was very, very upset!

They are annoying, things like grass you can trample down to some extent but its really annoying when you arrive at a corner and find a pole right in the way of the perfect shot.

hehe, i've never even used a lens with IS before.
At the start I found I was struggling a bit to get the 1/60ths sharp but after a few goes you get into the swing of things and can get the shutter speed way down.
