This is a great photo!
I have been wanting to draw a leopard - and I was wondering if I could draw this photo?

I dunno if it's quite actual, but when I started out in dA we told us each other, when we featured work...

well I featured this one in my journal it's really touching... so sad eyes...

Oh-
I'm not headed out to calgary this time.
I'm just going over to the east coast area of canada.

It would be a bit of a trek to Calgary from the east coast

That's an awesome shot, what lens were you using?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mole2k In reply to Eon-Lucid-Dreams [2008-05-17 19:46:14 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

Its the canon 300 f4L (non-IS) its a really old lens but still works great I dont really feel the lack of IS affects it as I have pretty steady hands anyway.

Eon-Lucid-Dreams In reply to mole2k [2008-05-18 01:27:49 +0000 UTC]

Whats IS? Sorry... ah image stabiliser? If that's it, i don't really see the bloody difference... and don't see how it can work. You can pretty much control that shit with a large aperture or fast ISO if needs be. But does it make a noticeable difference? and if so, how?

mole2k In reply to Eon-Lucid-Dreams [2008-05-18 08:12:03 +0000 UTC]

A lot of people swear by it i've never really seen the need I can hand hold at slow speeds as it is. I guess a lot of people dont have steady hands which IS would help them.

Generally they say you can hold about 3 stops slower with IS, if I had IS lenses I probably could hold a lot slower shots. I've sucessfully shot 1/15th at 200/300mm before.

mole2k In reply to Hornerhead [2007-10-07 05:58:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

The leopard itself was white but the lighting gave quite a boring undersaturated look to the grass and i prefered the shot in b&w.

It walked down the side of the pen then stopped and looked out through the fence to the left of me for a few seconds before continuing on down to where I was standing.
