This was "inspired" by a geek war forum thread where they were fighting over who would win in a fight. Vash or Spike? I think ridiculous team ups are more interesting than ridiculous vs. battles. You be the judge.

Exactly. Face offs are interesting for awhile but then everyone really knows that is practically impossible to tell who will win. Even if it is obvious, one of them loses or dies. End of story. Finding that out takes all interest out of it. And if you love both anime equally, then it makes you feel kinda bad.
Now when they team up, 1) It is always epic. Forever. 2) It is much easier to imagine what will happen when they do team up. 
Just my opinion on it, more of what I feel.
