It;s not the camera that's the problem. I'm sorry I was so mean before, but your problem is that this lacks subject matter, it lacks meaning. It's well-done, but it isn't artistic. It's just a demonstration of ability, not of your eye.

No. It just sort of disgusts me to see you critisizing some fourteen year old girl's photo--taken at the mall-- because it's not artistic enough. What the crap???!!! You come to a website full of talentless amatuers and you critisize someone who's work is actually worth veiwing.

Yeah, exactly. She's got talent, so she deserves criticism. It'll help her grow as an artist, as she no doubt deserves to, due to her potential.

Maybe you should learn a bit more about critiquing before you attempt helping any more people. You say you're an artist...have you ever thanked somebody for looking at a piece of your work and telling you that it's unartistic and ugly? I know I'd be way to insulted by their jab at my artistic genius to even think about the usefullness of their critique.

see what you mean about lacking subject matter but fact is it wasn't really supposed to be a serious picture.
I didn't think anyone would take it so seriously...it's just snapshot of my friend pretending to hold a sign.
I can demonstarte artistic ability in some of my photos. this just isn't one of them.
