Static's newest iteration isn't a result of merely my desire to design him anew; Static as a being is an ever-changing organism. With every rebirth, he changes his biology. Static never truly dies in any incarnation. He rebuilds himself from the smallest microbe of his composition, and as a result, his genetic make-up is altered as well. As of the last few redesigns, this has been the intention: for Static to evolve each time he is reborn.

It is evident from earlier designs that Static was more hedgehog-like in appearance, though it is less obvious that his biology was not unlike a plant; he relied merely on water and sunlight to thrive, his insides were more solid and fibrous, like a tightly knit weaving of worm-like tissue, and he possessed the ability to re-grow detached limbs and reconstruct his body.

As he evolved, he became less rodent-like; he became bulkier, lost his ears, his exoskeleton was more defined, and it showed just how alien he was. And before long, Static adapted gills, lost his nose, and became a more streamlined creature.

Static's newest incarnation has a barbed tail, his arm spines have shifted up his arm, his markings have changed, and he is all-around faster. He can breathe in almost any environment, and can even survive in a vacuum. He can create electricity, as he always has, but has adopted many more abilities he has yet to show off. His composition has become a hybrid of extraterrestrial plant-life and marine animal.

ANYWHO.....hope you guys like the new design. This will be the official, updated look of Static, and will probably only get weirder from here~
