Another one hour sketch, more or less. I'm not happy with her head but I do like the composition. *L* And I really need a ruler to draw straight lines -- that's one bendy spear.Cretacolor Aquamonolith pencils on Strathmore Artagin tinted Bristol board.

Actually, it was just different shades of brown plus white. I think I used five pencils total.

For some reason when I read the title I'd thought I'd seen "Hunting Lex," which would have been really funny. Then I looked at it again and got it right. Nice work. The shaft of the spear may be a bit bendy but it looks good to me. Besides it might be a bit more realistic in a sense. I mean you don't find many limbs on trees at that thickness and length that don't have at least a slight bend to them, I mean there's knots and branches coming off of branches. So a very lovely piece with a nice "earthy" feel to it, or at least to me it feels that way.

You can say that it's a spear for thrusting, not throwing... just an idea. I love the sun/moon background and how they sky is done around it. Quite awesome, esp. how it's all in relatively one color pallete.
