Painter X? Is that a graphics software?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2009-11-17 05:53:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's one of raster-based digital art application
Because it's cheaper than Photoshop, I want to get it. But finally, I couldn't get it. So instead, I bought Photoshop CS 4 Production Premium though it cost so much money to get it

Hmm I see. Different software has different styles, I heard. Will be looking forward to these in the future..

Now, I'm getting Driver's Ed, so like, play it safe Geez, the enforcement here lax.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2009-12-26 04:52:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's very unique and different to use, but instead, there are so many useful tools
Anyway, Adobe (that make Photoshop series) should those software more reasonable price, it's really expensive even if the academic version...

Oh, do you play "Driver's Ed" to get driver's license?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2009-12-31 08:37:56 +0000 UTC]

I understand the disturbing prices. That's why Lord created open source D:" still, I'm gonna stick with Adobe for now

What?? I think you're confused Driver's Ed is an American English slang for "Driving Education". I can't play games to get a damn license. If that is possible, the whole nation shall enjoy Need For Speed >:3 and perhaps Burnout ftm!

I heard the minimum hours required to pass the test in Japan would be 100 hours of driving with a lecturer..that is pretty hard, yet conventionally safe. Here, the minimum is just an hour, but we are prone to crashes and burns for that matter xDDD. I am charged if I want additional time with the teacher! What a fart.

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-01-23 08:48:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah

Oh, I'm sorry but because I know there are some online games that is called "Driver's Ed", and there is the game that's called "Driver's Ed Portable" for Nintendo DS. I misunderstood you played them
100 hours ?! No way, that's really awful You need 25 + 32(or 35) hours (or more) to get the license to ride on normal car, and it costs over 270,000 yen in Japan.
But Just an hour is too short, it's understandable that you want additional time

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-02-06 15:56:27 +0000 UTC]

Ahh. Simulation games. Okay, okay, I get what you mean. Still, games won't really work things out compared to the real feel of driving Have you watched "Snakes on a Plane"? Now, THAT IS SO FAKE!! God, the PlayStation 2 saved 25 lives in a plane full of 50 snakes high on drugs?? I am so gonna worship this thing.

Is the education provided by the government, or you can obtain the same thing by private sectors? Because 270 000 yen sounds too much!! The max we pay would be 13 000 yen only...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-02-15 18:34:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I agree with you

I don't know "Snakes on a Plane", I find it's a name of panic movie just now.
But according to your comment, the contents is awful

YOU NEED ONLY 13000YEN ?? That's amazing for all Japanese I think they need around 270000yen and 14days to get a drivers license in Japan at least. I think here is no private sectors in Japan. I think if you pay only 13000yen, you can't get a admission to a driving school, so you only can take a test to get a license for motor bicycle in Japan (Because they have to pass a test only to get a license for motor bicycle. In other words, they need not enter a driving school if you want to get it only.)

Snakes on a Plane is a thriller movie which has the great actor Samuel Jackson (he stars in an animated movie called Afro Samurai, as Mace Vindu from Star Wars, and the main character from S.W.A.T.). The movie is about escorting a witness to a murder on a plane. The assassins knew the plane first, and purposely filled the plane with snakes and a chemical that stimulates the snakes to mate, feed, kill, and repeat. The movie climaxes when the 2 pilots died and the only one who can land the plane is a fat black man who played a PlayStation 2 flight-simulative game O.o Basically, the plot is almost impossible to believe XD;

Umm, well failing a driver's test here isn't a good option. A fine of 1, 600 yen is insured if you want to re-take after failing the test. 14 days sound good actually. Here, you have to wait for months to get the whole job done >.< I have passed the tests, but now I am still waiting for the call for another seminar, then I can learn how to drive.

I admit, 270 000 yen isn't going to take me anywhere if it's the price to drive there. No wonder Japanese favors the public transports compared to cars. I've seen the central Tokyo crossroad. It's wide for a reason Here, the price is standard, unless you are taking license for a truck, lorry, or bus.

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-03-01 03:07:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh, is it true ? It's interesting info
But umm...My younger brother (who practiced flying the actual helicopter, before he played Flight Simulator 2004 and X for with PC, special controller, and pedals) said simulator is really easier than real flying. So I think it's really difficult for people who only played a flight-simulative game to do it

Really...
My country's price is really expensive than your country's price, so perhaps it's natural

Especially, having car isn't convenient for commute and there aren't much parking places at downtown of Tokyo. Instead there are pretty much public transports, and they are really convenient and inexpensive (except taxi). So you should use bus, train, or subway

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-03-07 14:21:01 +0000 UTC]

Helicopter simulators are good for one thing - you always have a reset button! In life, once you lose, there isn't a button to "load" you back to life once you lose it.. Is your brother serving the country? What is he going to be after mastering the helicopters?

I guess many Japanese love bicycles too? I saw some advertisements on bicycles, and I can tell you, bicycle advertisements are uncommon here Japan has so many things to do in life @.@; wahah - I am just disappointed with the economy lately. NO wonder the economy sucks there! Japan exports everything! I thought Japan creates all sorts of awesome stuff that I can find here. I just never thought that they don't get to sell them well locally..I am worried somehow .

You have quality, we have quantity And it's BAD . D:; god, you should be proud serving Japan! Everything there is so.........good! I mean, the environment, the people, and even the toilets, sourly speaking!! Here, no one complains over dirty toilets, clogged drains, shit drivers, and the illegal DVDs on sale *.* I believe Japanese aren't used to swearing these days - my place here is quite...um, yeah..(the Chinese community are like that)

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-03-17 15:03:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's right. Real live isn't game

Because my brother just like helicopters, he got a license for Helicopter. So most job that can fly with helicopter is alright for him. (here is the school [link] <-Japanese English-> [link] ) I heard it cost less than 10000000yen. But it's for not business but private. So if he want to get a license for business, he need more 10000000yen. So He give up to do it for the time being and he's working part-time as a clerk in a convenience store now.

There are three licenses of motor bicycle in Japan. 原付 (less than 50cc), 自動二輪 (less than 400cc), 大型二輪. many Japanese got 原付 because it's very useful. But there is not so much Japanese who ride 自動二輪 or 大型二輪 now

Thank you for telling. That's too bad
Yeah, there are so much things that Japanese have to do... Japanese got economical quality and quantity, but instead, Japanese lost mental quality and quantity

<10 000 000 Yen? 千万?? D: Oh wow......

Aww, so he's no longer into the helicopter industry? I see, must be really hard on him. When he started to like helicopters? It's very interesting to hear.

Oooh, so what is the minimal age required for these license?

The problem with Japan is that problems that are found are hard to be solved. Without money, hard times occur. Really stress, you know. That can change. I am sure there's a community group in your neighborhood. Why not plan out an outdoor activity where everyone can play a role in something fun I think having fun at hard times can help solve people who needs confidence.
Surely there's a good form of free entertainment there - a spot for a community to come weekly, share their stress and just vent everything out, regardless even if they were to mock their employers (ooh that's nasty). Stand-up comedy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-03-31 09:32:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's amazingly much
He don't give up to get the license for business, so I wish he will be able to do it someday

Here is the list of the minimal age required for driving license
16 years old --- motor bicycle (less than 400cc)
18 years old --- motor bicycle (more than 400cc), car (less than 5t[weight])
20 years old --- car (less than 8t[weight])
21 years old --- car (more than 8t[weight])

Yeah, but the big problem that most Japanese haven't enough time (and money) to do it probably Japanese society should be reformed...

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-04-10 10:54:38 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, I remember 20 is the legal adult age in Japan. Here's 18, and I need till my birthday on 8th August to be an adult. >.> I guess I need 2 more years if I'm there

Reform? I am not sure either I like Japan, for once, is not as hectic as here, and the environment is like, heaven. Living costs kills the whole love I guess.

By the way, how is the weather there now? I heard it's going to be a hot year..?

Japanese weather?
I think it's more stranger than before. In other words, recently temperature is more unstable than before. But according some news, this Japanese summer will be usual or little hotter than usual

Yeah, it's difficult for me to get some spare time to spend for my family or friends recently

There is a dormitory for woman, but there is no dormitory for man. So I live in a apartment now.

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-09-09 16:17:32 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...what about doing what you do best as a gift to your family? You can draw - you can teach me! You can do these little things, and they count if you know how to manipulate them. Attend some festivals - I heard it's a good way to unite with family. Don't the Japanese customs do that in a yearly basis?

I don't agree to sex-based segregation >,< If I had a choice I wouldn't mind staying in a diverse lot than a gender-majority Is it that hard? I really feel pitiful

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-10-02 16:13:13 +0000 UTC]

I did it before
Of course, there are some festivals in my city. But I haven't any spare time, and I think I won't get enough time to go somewhere (for the time being at least), then how to attend a festival ?

Recently, woman's right is getting stronger than before in Japan. So there are trains, hotels etc for woman only. Woman can arrest man for being molested in a crowded train (even if he don't). (In fact, there is a Japanese movie based on a true story, それでもボクはやっていない, the film focuses on the story of false accusation of groping in a train) So nowadays, all mans have to raise both arms when they ride in a crowded train to prove "I won't molest.". It's extremely ridiculous...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-10-11 15:53:02 +0000 UTC]

I see. Does your workplace have any then? You could invite your family to join you

What? Is that applied to all men in any section of the train?? That's not just ridiculous - that's sexist! It frames every men to be predators, even though not all sexual harassers are entirely male. I can't accept this. I asked my teacher about it, and she said the same thing, but she advise it's unnecessary for anyone to think in such a weird way. The train is for all to use and enjoy, if there is ever a tragic crime committed, the people should take the appropriate action instead of expecting men to raise their hands up.. I mean, raising hands is something I would call "avoiding crime", but not "solving crime"!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

monchiken In reply to Watanabe16 [2010-11-08 13:54:57 +0000 UTC]

I can't do it because it takes about 4 hours for my family to come my workplace

Yeah, They(Women) said it is necessary to remove sexist.
But as you already notice, it has a clear contradiction

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Watanabe16 In reply to monchiken [2010-11-13 15:40:20 +0000 UTC]

I see.

It's too ridiculous, isn't it? It's not solving the problem, it's avoiding the problem. I hope the public isn't taking this act of raising hands in trains seriously.
