Description
Entry to although I wanna use this character for other stuff if possible. ;oUpdated his story
Name: Crows Feet (or just 'Crow' )
Species: Rapka (shapeshifter), primary forms are a Coyote and Crow
Age: 93 (about 27 in 'human/maturity years' )
Gender: Male
Height: 23 inches / 63.5 cm at the shoulder
Weight: 35 lbs
Personality: Friendly, although he can have a nasty vocabulary (sarcasm, swearing, and being a smartass may occur). He's usually humble and quiet around those he doesn't know, mostly because they cannot understand his native tongue or visa versa. He's very curious about new creatures and loves to study them.
He enjoys reading whenever he'd acquire a (temporary) human form, especially poems.
Other: Crow's native tongue is Akgi'el, the Language of Birds. He speaks the Common Tongue(english) brokenly, but can understand what's being said most of the time.
He's never eaten before. Rapka don't need to, they absorb energy in similar ways to plants. It doesn't mean he's not able to eat though.
Abilities:
Shape-shifting capabilities. He's like the pokemon 'Ditto' applied to real animals. He can turn into any size and shape he can find, including plants and inanimate objects. However he cannot move as immobile forms (if it doesn't function movement normally, IE: a tree).
Scanning goes hand-in-hand with shape-shifting. He must place his paw(s) onto any part of the object, and then sends out a pulse that quickly runs through the object, and back to him. Think of it like a cat-scan. This way he can properly mimic the form (skeleton, muscle structure, ect), instead of just running on assumptions and probably turn into a mis-shapen critter.
Extraordinary healing. Rapka are known around their territories for it. They can mend cuts and blisters to life threatening wounds. It's even said they can give life back into those who have been dead for days.
Melting. He can melt into the same liquid as when he shifts forms. This allows him to mend harsh injuries. The downside is this takes hours to preform.
Strengths:
-Can shift into anything he can put his paws on.
- Can heal others.
- Intelligent. Living nearly a century does that.
Weaknesses:
-While he may be able to mimic anything he's able to touch, he can be knocked out of any form with a few blows to the head, spine, or other sensitive areas. If a hit is hard enough(which it doesn't even have to be THAT hard), he will not be able to recall the form he was just in, and therefore will have to proceed with a Scan once more.
- He copies the physical form. Any 'magical' abilities are very rare to be acquired. He also does not gain any accessories they may have (cloths, weapons, ect).
-Cannot heal himself. Due to a traumatic experience, he has refused to practice this technique on himself. Any attempts only cause burns and scaring. He's even phobic about others trying to examine injuries on his face.
- In his primary forms he has the attributes of a 'normal' coyote and a 'normal' crow. He's not faster at flying or running, or stronger than a normal one would be.
- Obvious language barrier. He CAN speak english, he's just crappy at it.
Story:
Crows Feet's homeland is in North America, somewhere along the Canadian/American border. Most of his life he has spent in the wilderness, learning about the creatures around him and mimicking their lifestyles every so often. He doesn't live alone, however.
Rapka often live in clans. Depending on the region, and behavior of the Rapka themselves, their traditions can vary. The Clan he comes from was tightly knit, keeping themselves under each others protection. Overall he had a pretty good childhood.
Crow was(and still is) a very talented healer. One day while playing with one of his sisters(he was about 19 years old), he cut his face a few times by falling out of a tree. His sister insisted that they needed to go find one of their elders to heal him, but the boy said he'd be fine doing it himself.
Judging by the scars in his face, you can tell that didn't happen. Trying to aim and heal a part of his body he couldn't properly see quickly began to irritate him. What was healing water began to sting an already painful wound. This spiraled out of control, and his own soul tore up his face.
His sister ran off to find help. When she returned with an adult, Crows Feet's entire face was various shades of red from being smeared with blood and water. Their elder did the best they could and healed up the wounds. However they could not remove the scars from his face.
By the time they took Crow back to the rest of the clan, he was fully awake and not willing to let anyone near his face. He screamed, kicked, and bit at anyone who tried to even graze the tip of his nose. They soon gave up, deciding it was best to leave him alone until he was ready.
He continued to grow and learn, but never bothered to ask for his scars to be removed. Some of the elders believe he was still traumatized. Others thought from being torn up by his own spirit no healing could remove those scars.
Crow matured and began to train in his shifting skills. While his siblings gained knowledge of new creatures and easily memorized their forms, Crow still had to resort to scanning to recall something other than his Coyote or Crow shapes. He did learn to more easily turn into most of the animals where he lived, but usually needed to refresh his memory every few days.
Many years later, when he was somewhere in Crows' late 70's, Ibis showed up at his Clans border. He was from a Clan far east, on another continent. The elders welcomed him with open arms. Crows Feet was fascinated by this new member, he took forms of creatures he had only glimpsed at in the books the Clan kept in an old abandoned library. Ibis learned to get used to it, and within a few years was often on Crows shoulders as a small black bird with a white belly and an extremely long tail.

Very neat character. I like his colors.
The way he shape shifts is need too. I don't think I've ever seen a transformation sequence like this before. :0

I'm glad you like him. I put a lot of thought behind this guy, and I still have more to figure out! xD
Watery-blobbish whateveryouwanttocallit shifting seemed to fit. Most transformations are either your standard physical/werewolf shifting, a puff of smoke, a flash of light, or like... yeah. I wanted to do something different! D:

Quite intriguing. I like the story of how he got his scars. Very unique in comparison to most scars being caused by EPIC BATTLES.
And I love his name. <3
lol Crow-Toe.

I don't get why people always have their characters in these epic fights to put scars on 'em. There's other ways people get marks like, take me for example: I've got a burn on my right leg due to a hot motorcycle exhaust pipe. xD

Ouch! Sounds painful! xD And I agree, I have a few similar that I got from silly little things. No epic battle involves.
Why can't more people have their characters get scars from falling off their bikes or something?

Something that actually happens in real life instead of just some overblown crap.

He is an interesting character indeed. A coyote who speaks a bird language is not that often seen.
I definitely wouldnยดt want to draw his way of transformation... it looks way to complicated fo me...but anyway.
I wish you luck to get into the tournament ^^.

I don't care if people cheat and just draw him into a blob then again in whatever he was turning into.
And thank you. ^^ Same to you!

...
What if someone drinks him while he's in his liquid form?
>>
<<
No, I'm not getting any ideas.

I actually thought about that and it made me giggle.
If you want to get into technicalities, maybe he could shift into whatever is swallowing him, therefore bursting their belly. That's if he was awake enough to do so o' course. xD
I'm not morbid, I swear >>
If not, he'd start squirming at them and bantering in some weird bird language. Ack, I need to write down the key for that. People don't HAVE to use it, but I did make one.

-Is imagining her character's belly bursting- D:
K, if I go against you, I won't have my character do that.
Anyway. Awesome character, probably one of my favorites. <3

I swear if we get paired up in the first round, the judges who paired us up will loose their faces.
Crows Feet is amazing. And has a silly name. Which makes it more amazing.

And same here. Gaaaaaah I really hope we're not. I wonder if we could request it, then again that might make them want to pair us together more. D:

I think, wen I finish the thing I'm currently working on, that I might give it a shot.
I haven't animated anything fluid yet, so it'd be a nice challenge. I'll let ya know if anything good happens.
