Kind of how I imagine how my favorite characters would first meet. Diddy Kong swims away from danger of the UNSC battallion from the Halo franchise, witnessing the kidnapping of his family and friends to off world. He calls the Linux staff who he recently gains interest in since Microsoft mistreated his friends and didn't think Apple's "user friendly" direction would suit Rareware's relationship with Nintendo anyways. Apparently, Tux, on the other hand, which encountered an insurrectionist Spartan from the Rareware division, got a call from said Linux staff giving him the precise location of the distress signal that Diddy sent. Tux went to that distress signal and along the way, researched the Nintendo-Rareware relationship just as Diddy researched the open source community. Once Tux approached Diddy Kong on a lonlely iceberg, both were shocked, and excited to meet each other in person.

They both have very similar talents and powers anyways including having such cute features like pot bellies that are meant to be rubbed.
