BB....he is such a gloomy depressing characterBut I love him anyway
*Note, this is Beyond Birthday, not L, and Beyond was born with the Shinigami eyes, which in his case was more of a burden though he needed them for his murders*
To all the folks asking who BB is....Wikipedia is your friend... ( in short he is a character from the book Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. The light novel is about a case L worked on with Naomi Misora before the timeline in the manga.)

I'm SO happy that i found this picture and even more important the artist behind it! I loved it and had this as a wallpaper for like forever, because my laptop died it got lost and now i FINALLY found it again! daaaaw!!! ^-^ I really love the style of this picture..someday i'll will be able to do such amazing artworks myself (in years that are far faaaaar from now xDD)^-^

I think Beyond is actually L. I see how he wouldn't too, but I see how he can.
L knew Light was Kira. Is that because L/B's shinigami eyes couldn't see Light's time left for him to live? The whole time L knew Light was Kira, but he couldn't find evidence. As being the greatest detective in the world, he couldn't simply just guess, right? So he knew, but he couldn't find the proof that your average human could see.
And in LABB L tells Misora that he knows who the murderer is. Perhaps that's because he IS Beyond.
And as for Kira killing BB with the Death Note, since Beyond Birthday isn't L's real name, maybe somehow he got a body or something. I'm not sure how that would work, but I think L... is actually B.

Well, in the book, BB actually never looked like L until he decided to disguise himself as him with the makeup and all.... but I wish your idea was true >w< I'm gonna pretend it is XD

Haha, Beyond Birthday will always be my favourite character.
I don't jut mean my favourite DN character - I mean my favourite character, from everything, EVER.
I mean, come on! He's a frickin' BADASS!
Anyway... this picture is awesome, and it's full of movement, and the colours are amazing, and it's just... OWO. <3 Love it, as well as all of your other art. (I have to say, the Death Note section is my favourite though, for fandom-reasons. XD)

His supposed best friend, A, who was originally the first successor to L, committed suicide from the stress. B blamed L and left, even though he was second in line to succeed L, and decided to succeed him as not the greatest detective in the world, but the greatest criminal, making an unsolvable case for L.

While I am not usually a fan of digital media, I must say this is a great fan art of BB. You managed to capture the essence of his character perfectly without making him look identical to L with the exception of the vividly coloured eyes.
