Necks...I swear they are evil...Here is all I know.. Necks angle forward slightly, the spine joins to the skull just behind the jaw and muscles join from the collar bone to round about the mid neck, ( specially in buff guys :'D)

Would you have one of these for face forward with the head completely down and one with it looking up. I find those very difficult...

Ugh, I agree with you in that one. Necks are evil...but they just complete a piece. >.< Everyone can tell when a neck isn't done right. Bravo, I love these.

I'm sorry I know I haven't commented on all your tutorials thus far, only a few but I do want to thank you for doing them. I still haven't drawn anything in over a month but when I see one of your new tutorials I feel that spark of inspiration it just doesn't seem to want to last till I get home from work. I think necks are the only thing I can do without a ref, even with the muscles. Maybe it's because I'm a heavy metal fan and like to bang my head
