12 x 16 inches, oil on canvas sheet (not mounted on a backing)I had this on my schedule of images to paint, but I chose to do it on a day that I was anxious and unsettled, unsure if I could finish it or do it any justice. By coincidence, I also painted it the day after I read a reddit AMA by Eva Mozes Kor, who with her twin sister was subjected to Josef Mengele's experiments at Auschwitz when she was 10 years old. This character of Seven of Nine is always thought-provoking.
Appreciation to Yveo for suggestions on the background. I originally wanted the background chaotic, multicolored. I planned it that way, painted it that way, and it didn't look the way I wanted. I suppose the lesson here is the chaos should be in her expression, not in the background.

I really wish Seven looked like a Borg for just a little while longer. I understand the makeup was painstaking to get on and they didn't hire Jeri Ryan to cover her up with a Borg costume, but still, there should have been some transition between bulky machine bits to ridiculously tigh catsuit.

I am the choir to whom you are preaching. I am so frequently confused and confounded by that catsuit that I have designated it, and the issues surrounding how this character's body is portrayed and used as part of her personality, worthy of a full canvas painting. I have sketched it out but it is such a big idea that I am not sure I can ever do it justice.

Thank you. Distant, cold, and a bit creepy is what I was going for. Those implants came out far better than I ever imagined. No joke. A complete surprise.
