hmm.... have you do image adjustment using adobe photoshop? you can adjust the brightness and contrast with it. use adobe photoshope image>adjustment>levels @ curve @ brightness and contrast @ blah blah blah

LOL yea it is ._. luckily if i scan it in black and white (grayscale) it doesn't do too bad :3 and the coloring part is much easier too. here look [link]
