Description My fantastic girlfriend arranged and matted these photos I took from a day we spent feeding ducks at Manito Park. This one was very forward and I liked the progression from the first to the third photo.

Even though the duck appears in three different shots, none of them can fit the duck's entire body into the frame. In each shot, the duck always appears slightly out of the picture. This, combined with the varying angles, creates the impression that you've been chasing this duck around the sidewalk. The result is a vivacious, zany effect. I also like how, when the duck actually opens its mouth, it's positioned further off the page. It's as if you're balancing out the impact of the "quack" by making less of the duck visible. As far as improvements go, I would start by lightening or removing altogether the black border. It's too harsh for this soft subject matter. Also, I agree with the other comments about upping the contrast between the duck and the sidewalk. Other than that, cool shots.

Aww....its....its...soo.....CUTE! MUST CUDDLE! AWWW smooch: Hehe..okay..rebecca..control yourself. *deep breaths* Heh I love it...marvolous..if your developing your own photos, perhaps you might want to up the contrast, so that the duck's feathers don't blend in so much to the pavement. Just a thought. But wonderful..I love it! Keep up the wonderful work!

I would like to try darkening or deadening the background somehow so that the duck stands out more. Something to try. Thanks for the comment, suggestion, and oh yes, favorite! You rock!

That is an awesome, awesome duck. I like the downward movement you get from the different poses top to bottom. Very pretty indeed.

Thanks! The ducks were so much more agreeable to the closeups when I had a stack of bread slices in my hand!

Hey, I'd come to bread slices too I already have on several occasions...

problem is the little kids run away and take the bread with them

I'd run for it, too, provided it was Wonderbread. Yum!
