I get bored and pretend I'm dark and gothy. Really I'm a pretty average looking, sporty-styled girl. But goth clothes are just so fun! And they make my legs look nice, so here we go. Me, my legs, long striped socks and mary-jane's.Related content

Nope, but they look like they could be. They're Anarchy brand (got 'em at Hot Topic.) Easily in my Top 3 Favorite Shoe list, even if they are a size too big, heh. Thank so much for the fav, too!

Sad times for not having access to ready-made cool shoes, but it's really awesome you'd be up to DIYing your own. Forgive my global ignorance, but is the lack of awesome-shoe-shopping South Africa wide, or are you just in a small town devoid of a Hot Topic?
How would you do the wingtips? Permanant marker or would you get some leather and stitch it on? Sounds cool either way.

Nope, I live in a big city, Pretoria, capital, there are 2 cool shops in my town (Red Tape Clothing and Silent Screams Distro) but they dont stock wingtips. My friend works at red tape and she told me that they just ordered a bunch of cool creepers, which i suppose is cool. I only know hot topic from the website, but there's only so much shopping I can do on the web.
I wanna try to get some leather shoes, white if possible, and strip the part I want black and just dye it... but I'll prob end up doing some half assed permanent marker thing

Around here, we only have Hot Topic. Nice enough, but it's kind of...mainstream. Like Gap, but with lots and lots of black and safety pins. And like you said, only so much can be done online, so it's limiting. The Creepers sound cool, though. I've never had the extra cash to drop on a pair, but I've got a buddy who swears by them.

yeah, i'll def submit a pic, unless i fail horribly and am too embarrased to show it in public. i think hot topic would be really cool if it were here, but also I wouldnt like it, coz i dont like stupid jock people who start wearing cool clothes... thus making it mainstream, like you siad.

Yeah, the punk/goth/alternative look feels like it's become so mainstream it's a trend now. Sad. But I'm really happy about the emergence of DIY in clothes. It's fun to have someone ask you where you got something and be able to say "Oh, you know, I just made it."

Heh, I've made a couple of dresses and skirts and the like, but I haven't altered shoes yet. I have some converse I'm dying to mark all over, but I can't bring myself to "mess them up." I think I'll just have to buy a different pair to play with.

Your shoes = awesome. Great, great job. And the converse...well, I told you about wanting to wing-tip some, but I'd really like to do some crazy 50's era sailor tatoo images on some converse. Like the crazy-looking swallows and such. I'd use sharpie, but it can fade or run if you get it wet.

oh cool! i wanted to do the exact same to my converse! i want some tattoo stuff on mine too, saying that true love thing with swallows or even the rose thing! im not sure how i'll do it yet - maybe a patch, or else i'll just paint that on...
