So how do you guys feel about Atlus' habit of renaming the protagonists of the Persona series? Before the anime series and movies they were Minato Arisato, Souji Seta, and Akira Kurusu in their respective manga and after they were adapted into animation their names were changed to Makoto Yuki, Yu Narukami and Ren Amamiya. I always wondered why Atlus decides to change them after the fans basically universally agreed that their names from the manga were canon.
Maybe it's legal issues with the companies that publish the books or something? What do you think?

I don't exactly know the reason for the name changes. I still call him Akira, but people can call him what they want and I wouldn't mind!
