OMG a Bioshock fanart!!You see this guy's face in that radio transmission portrait, but if you see him full on, he's freakin hideous. His face is just...ugh! Like this picture under the link.

Yes that is Atlas or the model that was used when you see him below in that one level. Either the developers kinda got lazy and just used a recolored splicer with a hat, or the tiny picture was lie!
So anyway, I've always wanted to draw Atlas, because his accent (I love many different kind of accents) was so hella nice and he's an interesting character.

All the faces models from the first game are totally scrapped off the side of a trash can. It's like they hired people to make splicer faces and didn't tell them their were normal looking character's too.
The confusing thing with Atlas's face is that I've seen like three different versions of it.....

I have often wondered what would've happened if Fontaine hadn't pulled his trick and that Atlas was actually Atlas but had heard of the player's Would You Kindly and still needed to save his family one way or another.

When I played BioShock I got really into it, and when I found out who Atlas really was - screw him with his "Oh my poor Moira, oh my baby Patrick!" - I actually felt betrayed. "Would you kindly?"... Anyway, good work! I love that he looks like he's been doing some of his own dirty work. Who wouldn't trust an Irishman?

Nice work, boyo! But there ain't no Atlas, kid. Never was. Fella in his line a work takes on a variety of aliases. Hell, once he was even a chinaman for six months. But, that drawing is grand, so I guess he owes you a little honesty. The name's Frank Fontaine.

I know what you mean about the Developers, but I don't think it was laziness. The developes actually did use a recolored Waders Splicer design for Atlas (Just as they used the same metheod, but with a differnt Splicer type, For Jhonny), Thus also making the face in the corner a lie. ~Sad~ But, with never seeing Atlas Up-close and personal, they were most likely saving space for the other, more destinct modles (Such as Andrew Ryan or the Little Sisters) to be created.
Anyway, besides the Logic, this is a great picture. I love your art style! Keep it going!

Yeah. And the most ironic part of the series is Bioshock 2. People like Sinclair, Holloway and Poole have unique models even though they're seen in person only ONCE in the entire game. Strange...

Atlas is Fontaine, and Fontaine had a shitload of ADAM, and since ADAM is what made everyone so messed up, its no mystery why Atlas looks so ugly. And you can't really call the developers lazy because you aren't supposed to see the characters up close and in detail. You might as well call them lazy for making the buildings out in the background of Rapture not as detailed as they should be when up close. But, nonetheless, a great picture! Good work

Also, Bioshock has a grand total of...8? 9? Splicer models that they've used, so I wager they've not been too careful in creating a new one for Atlas.
I chose to ignore that part completely and go on the radio picture (which is much more reasonable. 8D)

That game really got me by the heartstrings. I actually shot at the bullet proof glass when I heard Atlas scream "Moira! aw God, Peter! No!". when Atlas turned out to be *spoiler* ....Fontaine, I nearly broke my Xbox. P.S. I was hoping to see a nice Andrew Ryan. or maybe the Rapture's plumber. the one with the english accent, his name escapes me. ooh ooh, and Dr.Suchong, ooh, and Diane! I felt sad when I saw her and her husband *spoiler* dead on their bed next to the pile of pills.

I'm pretty sure that other than the little sisters the game is programmed to "ugly up" their faces when you get close to them. I've scrutinized the faces of enemies when fighting them and they look normal until a second goes by and it %changes% for real! all characters are supposed to be ugly but your never supposed to see atlas. That's why I don't think that picture was his real face either.

well, i think that the reason fontain looks so ick in that ref pic, is because that we were not meant to get that close to him and the developers re-used a splicer model. i believe i read somewhere that very few characters have there own models.

Bioshock to me surpasssed my expectations completly, personally I belive its right up there with the Halflife series with how well done this games story line was written. I love it when you have great expectations for a game and it goes way beyond anything you could have thought. The part when Atlas reveals himself to be Fontain gave me the cold sweats and his laugh was perfectly done. I actually paused the game for 5 minutes just holding my head thinking, THAT DID NOT JUST HAPPEN
