Bugged Out Thursday Photo- Vinegaroon
Maybe not the cuddliest looking creature, but one of my favorites. The scary looking pinchers are mostly for food holding and the pointy thing in back just waves about harmlessly. Vinegaroons have no venom glands, but they have glands near the rear of their abdomen that can spray a combination of acetic acid and caprylic acid when they are bothered.

Beautiful shot. I have a male Mastigoproctus giganteus, though he is staying hidden in his molting chamber since close to 6 months now. Hope he will cope with it, since its his finale molt.

These guys get a bad rap because they look very intimidating. This guy was very gentle and moved with grace and caution. I would love to own one of my own!

They are cool pets and their digging, explorating, and hunting behavior are fascinating ! Unfortunately shedding, which occurs generally 4 times in their life is a long and tedious process and they also are reputed difficult to breed.
