PLEASE DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION; THIS ARTWORK IS COPYRIGHT PROTECTED, thank you~have I mentioned I love pencils? I really love pencils. they are like absolute magic; I could doodle with them all darned day. Though, this didn't really start as a doodle, it was a part of a friends project at school and they had me working on the character's alternate forms; one of which was a demon... and man, I had so much fun with it... so much fun in fact, that I kept it. Now it's mine. mine and mine alone.

I love pencils, but I hate smudges. Even if I'm working with awesome non-smudgy paper, my hands still get all shiny and grey ahaha.

aww man, I know that feeling!
sometimes putting a sheet of paper under the side of my hand while I work keeps me from smudging it up too bad, dunno if that helps any though ;o;

A pencil is truly amazing with its range of textures and beauty of shading--and so inexpensive as art material [unless you were using some amazing specialty artists' pencil...]
The anatomy and pose are amazing, and the shading is flawless! This is crazy good!

agreed~ it's tough to find a medium that can match it~ [true lol there will always be those Kimberly pencils, and even pricier brands, but you can do a lot without 'em too]
thank youu~~~~~!!! I am super happy with it XD
there are some flaws here and there, but so far nobody's noticed them

Just something I saw while looking up Kimberly pencils~~a few reviewers on one site didn't much like 'em, saying the grading is inconsistent and the pencils felt scratchy to use--though they got kudos for smoothness and not breaking the lead in sharpening or use.... Me, I have only ever used a cheap mechanical pencil, and that only for sketching a bit....

huh, I'd never had issues with scratchiness; usually it's cheaper pencils that have that issue. hmm. might be that I also color super lightly XD they'll get gritty and scratchy if you push hard enough to crack the lead at the end; just like any other pencil.
O: mechanical pencils are the bomb diggety! 'tis nothing to "..." about! you are the wielder of a most powerful artistic weapon >:U
I once did a commission from a lady that lived nearby and got payed in over a hundred mechanical pencils; and that, was a glorious day.

I love it! Paid in mechanical pencils~~That is cool! And you're nearly fixed for life that way, maybe? Perhaps you use them too fast....
I do like them lots better for sketching, because it's so easy to keep the line narrow and sharp! Fave is the Bic #2, 0.7 mm lead...they even have a nice clean eraser!

I couldn't agree more: the pencil is truly the best tool of the trade.
You could make over 5000 shades of grey blend together in perfect harmony to create something that is 100% real. You could create line art of any thickness/shade and you could shade using a much wider variety of designs and methods (and you can erase your mistakes :3).
The possibilities are endless, really.

It really makes an image pop! And you can make so many other effects with it. Gradient effects, ink splotches, acid burns, etc.

Awesome, I really like the diversity of shading and lighting and shadows. And the way the outside lines are bolder and thicker has a nice effect.
