With October just around the corner, this came up over on tumblr . The idea was so funny that I just HAD to do it xD Oh and of course Judy would have a heart attack right away seeing him like thisRelated content

Nick looks like he's about to fall on top of her with his fluffy self! He's enjoying every minute of it! Of course once spring shows up, that'll be a lot of loose fur to sweep up!

Thinking of how environmentally-controlled Zootopia is, I wonder if such a need for a thicker winter coat is even necessary unless it's still something that's coded in their DNA. I would think it would take generations for the same species to have lived in such a fixed climate to simply lose it if being in the same weather all year round is possible. I still like the idea of it happening to Nick like as if it was a vestigial trait of sorts he has the bad luck to have. It would make for an interesting story of him being concerned for how Judy may react to his sudden change due to his unfortunate genetics! I suppose he can always get it buzzed off a bit temporarily if he wanted.

I think that we're at the old "Zootopia and Evolution" issue again. As I stated last time, evolution as it is just doesn't exist in the world, because a lot of the animal attributes just don't make sense for a bipedal animal living in a fixed climate. So I guess it comes down to artistic freedom and the way I see it, the idea itself is just a lot of fun to play around with, regardless of it making sense. That being said, the idea of some kind of malfunctioning gen appeals to me actually x3

I was caring to translate the text over to see what you guys were going about. Yeah, I don't think they change color too much in the winter (at least for red foxes), still I don't mind the sort of artistic license here otherwise.

There are some pictures of foxes which went a lot more yellow-ish in the way their orange fur was colored, and some olso had more beige/grey tones to them, but there are also some examples where the fur color doesn't seem to change all that much at all.
