Around 68 million years ago in late Cretaceous Patagonia, Argentina, a young adult Carnotaurus sastrei hungers for prey. But upon feeling the ground shake beneath its feet, and seeing a great neck reach from above the treetops, it suddenly sees opportunity.

Here, opportunity becomes in the form of a giant. A giant known as Puertasaurus reuili - a titanosaur. It is so tall it towers over the trees that it feeds on, and must reach down into their canopy to feed. But unbeknownst to the lumbering behemoth, the Carnotaurus is slowly approaching it - and thinking.

It must think of what to do. An attack can be catastrophic. The beast is large enough to simply crush the horned abelisaur underfoot. But if it can land a brutal enough bite, it can either seriously wound the sauropod and bring it to the ground, where it has few to no means of defense, or even jump up to its neck and land a bite, where it can make a kill far quicker.

Although hunger has already driven it here, it begins to once again realize the dangers presented by such an attack. Shear strength and bodyweight are enough to kill the Carnotaurus almost instantly, far faster than it could kill the puertasaur. It will most likely back down in the end, running off befiore the huge creature notices it. But perhaps, just perhaps, its hunger will drive it far enough to do something even the biggest predators of the region fear - facing a titan.
