Or when they sue their fans, or when they all go into therapy and film it, or when they put out an album with semen on it, or when they film a music video in a prison as a lame attempt at "street cred," or...what was I talking about? Man, fuck Metallica! *fumes with rage*

They haven't put out a good album in twenty years, so I really don't think they're gonna break the streak now. Don't get me wrong, I love classic Metallica. Master of Puppets was one of the first songs I learned on guitar, and it's still one of my favorites of all time. The thing is, every time they put out a new album, I get my hopes up and I'm always dissappointed. I'm over it. There are too many great bands out there, and I'm tired of sitting around waiting for Metallica to stop sucking.

I don't know. I'm not too impressed by many new bands. Too many now that listened to Korn while growing up and they think that was metal. Most of them I find rather sucky. Got any suggestions for good new metal?

I don't know how fond you are of screaming, but an old-school metal fan should like All That Remains. In the Metalcore vien, I've got to recommend Bleeding Through, Bullet for My Valentine, Darkest Hour, and Between the Buried and Me. In misc. metal, you could check out Arch Enemy (they do a great cover of Symphony of Destruction), Nile (if you like your metal extra brutal), and Shadows Fall. If you like your metal with extra cheese (I know I do!) you could always check out Trivium, Dragonforce, or Iced Earth.
British mags like Metal Hammer usually do a good job of showcasing new bands, as well as covering the old favorites like Slayer and BLS. But yeah, I piss on any band that lists Korn as an influence. Heavy music is definitely going in a lot of new directions, so it's an exciting time to be a fan.

Man, I just can't get into any of those bands. I've tried a few of them, I don't know, they just don't have what I'm looking for. I pull out old albums, give them a listen, and new stuff doesn't even compare. Once and a while you find a gem, but for the most part, ick!

Not even Shadows Fall or Trivium? Those guys are straight thrash revival! Some of the older guys, like Slayer and Testament, are still putting out good jams, too

I like the new Testament. I think I've gotten too old for new Slayer. Down, COC, & BLS are all otay...
