This is the 126th piece in my Industrial Heart collection, entitled, Secure.Each of my Industrial Hearts starts with an anatomically correct human heart made from polymer clay - the base. With all of the components of a real human heart, it has also been made to look metallic and Industrial with its panelling and rivets. Gears, metal findings, and other various things are also added.
The entire piece is about 1 1/2" tall and is antiqued with black acrylics and then finished with a satin glaze for a slight metal sheen. It has a loop in the top that is attached to a keyring style jumpring and is strung on an 18" silver tone link chain with lobster clasp.
You can tell that this is the heart of someone that has been hurt in the past - but no more. The heart has been locked and chained shut. But perhaps in keeping out the bad, you keep out the good as well. Don't worry - for that special someone, there is a key to let them in. <3
