Fire: Entei, Ponyta. I don't have the most fond of memories when it comes to fire types, mainly because of that one stupid sicko who pretty much used to kick the crap out of my Swampert with his Blaziken. I hope that he got his ass-handed to him, but my personal favorite is Houndoom even though it is a partial Fire type and not a primary one, but i'd do definitely say....aaaaaw, Ponyta. Ponyta is so adorable and cute. Then again that's because I like horses. Also I knew I would be right when it came to what type Scorbunny's grown-up form would be - Pure Fire type and not a Fire/Fighting hybrid.
Water: Empoleon, Swampert, Kyogre, Primarina. I always have a water starter...most of the time anyway, they're the most fun for me to use and I feel comfortable using them. Although as much as I love water types and water in general, I ironically am not a good swimmer at all.
Grass: Tropius, Bellossom, Stenee, Executor, Roserade.
Electric: Zebstrika, Rotom, the Chu family, Yamper, Lanturn. I have no problems with how Lanturn turned out, true I would have gone for a more terrifying anglerfish Pokemon idea (because Lanturn looks too happy and perky to be even remotely similar to the real deal), I still like him.
Psychic: Gardevoir, Drowzee and Hypno, Beheeyem, Alakazam,
Ice: Froslass, Dellibird.
Normal: Yungoos and Gumshoos, Meowth family, Snorlax, Komala, Lopunny, and Miltank among others as well as Purugly. Komala definitely wins my vote though since I had been waiting since generation 4 for a koala Pokemon to be created. Yes, Komala's Pokedex entry is really dark and depressing (woah...a non-ghost type Pokemon with a depressing backstory, that's different) but it's still really cute and also the Comatose ability. Seeing him fight Jigglypuff in the Sun and Moon anime was one of my favorite things ever.
Fighting: Pangoro, Mega Lopunny.
Flying: Staravia, Braviary.
Poison: Garbodor, and the lovely Salazzle. Actually lovely is an understatement in Salazzle's case, since she is a literally smoking hot Poison/Fire type hybrid. And those hips don't lie, same with Stenee, Hatterene and Lopunny..hips don't lie.
Ground: Donphan because I love elephants and Mudsdale. Mudsdale is a badass looking horse.
Rock: Lycanroc. Midnight in particular because of the aspect of Lunala's powers having an affect on its behavior in a manner akin to how in typical werewolf movies the victim turns on nights of the full moon and has no control of themselves or their actions. Perfect for a horror themed Pokemon team.
Bug: Ledyba/Ledian. Yes, real life ladybugs have a morbid personality and a tendency to kill/eat others of their own species (not even kidding they do that), but I think Ledyba and Ledian look lovely. Ledian looks a bit like a superhero too, like a mix of Strong Bad from Homestar Runner and a Power Ranger.
Ghost: Oh boy..where do I start? So many good ghost types to choose from, they're my favorites. But ooooh, Sandygast and Palossand...the idea of a killer sandcastle that hypnotizes innocent beach-goers into making them build it up so it gets bigger and then poor innocent Pokemon fall in and are dragged down by it to their doom is the stuff of horror movies, I can see someone making a killer sandcastle movie around, it's basically Monster House by set at a beach. Giratina...what can I say? Coolest legendary ever, in concept and in fully fledged form. Polteageist...I knew I would love this one because of the fact it's a ghostly teapot/kettle and it gave me Twin Peaks vibes (if you're familiar with the show, you'd know that Phillip Jeffries - the character played by the late David Bowie, who was in the movie Fire Walk With Me and that this character supposedly came back as a teapot/kettle or rather a puff of smoke coming from it)...you know, between this and Komala holding a log everywhere he goes i'm definitely getting some Twin Peaks vibes. Then there's Mimikyu. Aaaaaaw, a social outcast who wants to become popular and loved. I love the meta aspect to it...Mimikyu dresses as Pikachu because Pikachu is loved and popular (in the real world too considering how many pieces of merchandise have him on them), I want to be Mimikyu's friend.
Steel: Jirachi.
Dragon: Drampa, Noivern.
Dark: Alolan Rattata and Alolan Raticate, Yveltal, Sableye.
Fairy: Clefable, Mr Mime (I don't get why some people think Mr Mime is creepy. I like him, he's adorable and funny), Jigglypuff. I'll admit...it took me a while to warm up to Jigsy here, mainly because of how she is in the OG anime and that episode where she sang her song gave me nightmares and made me cry...and yes, she can be really bothersome in the anime but she's actually pretty funny especially in some cases like for example in Pokemon Snap where she reacts if you interrupt her song or throw pester-balls at her, and yes I main as her and Pikachu in Smash. Also it was worth it seeing her and Komala battle in the Sun and Moon anime, especially since she definitely met her match. Who better to fight a Pokemon who puts people to sleep than a Pokemon who is already sleeping?
