Description
This is a wonderful work of my dear Jordan Fenix by my good friend and quite talented artist the original can be seen here: [link]This is quite possibly the last image of Jordan Fenix as Iomedae's cleric and ecclesiastic investigator (color one doesn't counts
She is one of my favorite characters so I am reworking her on her setting, which is coming slowly and at her own pace. Hope to be able to have something written soon so I can show you the art already done for her.
Jordan Fenix as is right now appears the following stories:
Decisions of Faith Part 1 Part 2
No Road Back Home Part 1 Part 2
Paved with good Intentions [link] <- this one appears in Wayfinder 3 and has part of the this illustration accompanying it.

Oh, she worships Iomedae then? Interesting...though I never got very interested in that goddess for some reason despite liking most of the Golarion pantheon quite much. (Pro tip, Emilia worships Pelor from the 3.5 default pantheon)

jejeje originally yes, Jordan worshiped Iomedae, jeje really Jordan is more into Justice Goddess, than sun goddess
and nice... actually Jordan's father (my original character in a game... about... ugh 10 years ago i think) was chaotic worshiping Corellion Larethian... untill we arrived to a city, we discovered he was more Lawful Good than the paladin ; his name was also Jordan Fenix.. and cof cof... he always confused the name of his god (Paladine, stolen from Dragonlance) for Pelor (its not my fault we were clearing a Pelor's temple from an infernal raid!).
The idea when we took Golarion was to recreate him, but when i saw Iomedae, goddess of Justice (which i was indeed looking a justice deity) I decided to make a female cleric.
Nowadays we again recreated Jordan for her own setting, we are still arming it. She now worships Aeresii, a Mortal made goddess (in a world without actual gods, the only one are other 5 heroes like her), who persues justices, and whose symbols are the light and the eagles.
Jordan nowadays looks like this: [link] [link] [link]
we even changed the symbol in her torso for this.

Oh, well.
Oooh, ok. I never liked Corellon much myself XD
I see.
Interesting. So, a homebrew campaign?
Ok.

originally I took Corellon because it was the only way to have a Weapon Proficiency: longsword remember in 3.5 clerics have very limited Weapon Proficiencies, and I LIKE swords, from there we discovered Mr. Fenix liked justice... so so did his daughter (we evolved that in the story in Golarion, of course we had to change his name
)
yes, and no
the idea was to have a place to tell stories about her, but we began to use the place for homebrew campaign... also with different rules, we have been using FATE, more especific Legends of Anglere ruleset but without the setting Anglaree. For the time being we are trying Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition, different set of stories.

Ooh, I see.

yes
that was why i "stole" a good from other gamesetting... i needed to keep my sword
Iomedae too has the longsword as prefered weapon so she was home made for me

Yes, I knew it. I wasn't 100% and I wasn't near my books to check. I don't really have a favorite Golarion god yet, though I do have some I like.

oh i like many
but when i first began to play i wanted to recreate an old character of mine and the first thing i did was to look for a "god of justice" when I found a "Goddess of Justice" I checked her and just fell in love with the concept

Wait, you posted someone elses art in your gallery into a club on their behalf?
Thats just a little odd...
You could have just as easily submitted the art from his gallery to the club and avoided people thinking its your work

Montalve In reply to AngelicAdonis [2010-08-03 01:04:09 +0000 UTC]
well is his art, but its my character.
And I do write an explanation and give credit in the notes below every art I commission or ask for or are gifted with
when I don't add images to my gallery (which is mostly when i have no story acompanying them) I add theirs to the groups.
Otherwise i still thank people for faving, and ask to check the original artist, they have so many wonderful works that people would don't be wrong to check them.
Besides I add them too to the groups in hopes people actually get interested in my stories and check them

I can appreciate that dude, but there are better ways of doing it
DA is for people to show off their work to the world, its not for people to show off art they paid other people to make
π: 0 β©: 1
Montalve In reply to AngelicAdonis [2010-08-03 01:18:34 +0000 UTC]
while its credited its not wrong... besides its not just that i paid to have a generic character done, Jordan has taken a lot of time an effort to develop. She is my character and I never take credit for work I haven't done... just read the title "by Butterfrog"
I have even being asked a couple times that people wants that i sell a few images as prints and every time i have send them to the artist.
I understand your point... yes look how you went down to add a comment, which is just below my notes and didn't even noticed what was it about. And its not a criticism... Its quite common, sometimes I myself do it. Still more times than not I try to read the notes, you will find that a lot of art ion many pages is art people has commissioned, its a quick way to follow tot he real artist and find very interesting art. Or i go to the one who commissioned it and check what is about.
Good art can be alone, but its a lot better (for myself at least) when its acompanied with something that makes it deeper, I as a writer like to check that too.
Unfortunately DA, while taking on literature is rather oriented to the visual, so its quite easy just to disregard the notes on something or works that don't look astounding.
You are the first to complain for me to adding it into a group, others have told me they would check my stories or my friend's gallery, some others that they had already checked and loved it... so all in all most are happy, I have no complains.

Well I'm just saying not to make yourself the middle man.
If you go to the original artists gallery, and click on the deviation, there is an option to "submit to group". If you do that, their deviation from there gallery goes into the club. No middle man, and no explaining "this isnt my art, its my character"
I dont want to be complaining, and I dont want to flame you, I'm just saying there is an easier way to do things. Looking at your gallery, you get lots of people mistake the deviations in your gallery as your work. So yeah, just trying to help you out.

As long and he post who did it, I think there's not much of a problem.
The fact that he posted my illo in his gallery is actually helping me out, because of it, lots of hMontalve's watchers are going to check my gallery and adding me to their Watch.

I am aware, and I have never accused him of art theft or discrediting you. My point is that there are better ways of representing/promoting your art while cutting himself out as the middle man.
The way I have suggested would bring all viewers straight to your gallery without having to visit his gallery first, and without creating any misinterpretations of who the original artist is.

Uh, what way did you suggested? Other than the paid ads in here, I know of no other place

AngelicAdonis In reply to butterfrog [2010-08-03 22:30:48 +0000 UTC]
If you (or anyone else) goes into your gallery, and brings up any of your deviations, there is an option to "submit to group".
For example, I just submitted [link] to the 46175 group.
You can do that with any of your deviations to any group. Once submitted into that group, all the groups members will see your work. So its like having a few hundred extra watchers
Also if you hand out 100 llamas, you'll get 100 people visiting your page. Further expanding your fanbase.
Furthermore, comment on peoples work. Its the simplest and most reliable way to make friends and attract attention to yourself.

Well, to start you could join more groups.
As soon as you upload a deviation you have to option to submit it right to the group, so it'll save you a lot of time.

its not about full version... this one is pretty much the full version of Jordan as I have thought her for Golarion. That is one of the reasons I have waited for Hugo's work.
Irem's Jordan is diferet in many aspects but she has mostly the same personality. Different armor, different goddess, and a bit different set of beliefs.
