N I feel u it took me to watch the Sailor moon crystal to actually enjoy and appreciate this cuz growing up watching the first dubbed Sailor moon it was hard especially after I got older but lately I've been reading and watching soooooooo much anime/manga with slice of life n love stories in it ..... 
P.S.
if you're a fan of the Brock meme with him calling rice balls donuts watch the old Sailor moon dub so funny n sad at the same time i died a little on the inside X3

Lolz almost didn't count it but thn remembered that Ben's omnitrix can copy any alien DNA it doesn't have saved and the second was that Sailor moon characters are technically from the Moon kingdom though they count as reincarnation of aliens so it's a stretch to say they have tht alien DNA I don't doubt it
