Description
Hello hello hello.... it's been over a year, lets talk about it. :3cSince my last upload in February of 2019, I had made immediate plans to move onto the next art project, since then, it has came to a completion percentage of.. I'd say about 60%. I had to halt its production because of school. Then, eventually, immense stress. I had a history of trauma and bad family dramas in the past that, unfortunately had a great effect on my motivation. I've also had a big depressive episode in the middle of 2019 and for the first time ever in my life, I've finally went to talk about my problems with a professional. Fortunately, the issue is being managed by the utilization of healthy coping mechanisms, and nothing of invasive nature (meds) was required for my issues. Thank goodness! ' v'); Even though that problem is resolved, the after effects of my mental downfall still greatly remains in the background of my life. And that ladies and gentlemen, is it taking a huuuuuge dump on my already withering motivation. (yayy!!11!) Another horrible thing that accompanied this lack of motivation, is a reoccurance of really bad anxiety. I would get really fidgety just by even thinking of the possibility of even clicking on my own deviantart page, and other social platforms/apps. The only way to fix this was by forcing myself pass that wall of intense anxiety, and so, here I am now. Hello everyone!
During 2019, I had made a lot of art work. I actually managed to sneak paintings of my OC, Aki and Kanna into essentially what was my fine art painting portfolio.... LOL.... I may upload some of them, and there are a few that I plan to one day draw digital remakes of. Few of the things that I did for school were digital, I will upload this particular one that I liked a lot. However, it may take a while before I actually submit it, since I need to do a few edits to remove texts that includes real life locations. It will be up soon, I promise! Also also, the illustration that I've stopped working on, the one that I had mentioned earlier, I will try my best to finish it relatively around early next month too. I'm looking forward to how it ends up looking like! So, there's that.
This illustration in specific, started back around January. I lacked the motivaton to continuously work on it, so that's why it took from then til now to actually finish, my apologies on that!

About the work:
Back in 2012, I, for the first time in my life, played my first ever mmorpg game, which was a game called LaTale. I had many great memories about the game and the people that I've met, so this game is very nostalgic to me. Whenever you'd transport from one location to another, there'd be loading screens, and let me tell you; those loading screens, the illustrations that covered it were absolutelyyyyyyy stunning! They were very inspirational into motivating me to make art as a child, so it has a very special place in my heart. The main goal of the story is to find this person, named Iris Livier, who became lost into the rips of time and space. One of her friends were you, the player. Apparently, currently in the story progression, the game's at the point where you, Iris's friend, finds Iris and reunites with her. Now'a days, I unfortunately do not have the time to invest a lot of effort to progress that far into that point of the story. And so, I simply imagined how it would've been like if I were to have found Iris in the story. Personally, I really liked her as a child, I suppose she was my waifu of sorts back then.. I just didn't realise at the time, haha. I've made the setting of the illustration take place in El Anoir Plains East. The main reason why I chose that location is because: A) I really liked the aesthetics surrounding that location. B) the bgm in there is really nice.
Speaking of the bgm, it is absolutely gorgeous for an mmo! Iconic afffffff hhhh
Here's some selections of the osts that I like, I'd recommend having a listen through some of these!
El Anoir Plains East | Elegy | Astro Rain / (the piano ver) | Utopia | Chaos Guild | Steel City | i.re.ne | RECOVERY
mmmmmmmm... spicy
As great those memories are, I will not recommend this game anymore to anyone, unless you live in asia and can play on the asian servers. The game is still pretty popular in China, Japan and Korea. The NA server however, is rather dead. I can spill the tea as to why it's dead though if you'd like to know. :3c
Feel free to ask me any questions btw, I'm happy to answer!

This is a beautiful piece of artwork, the painting and lighting is so soft and gentle...
Don't be hard on yourself for how long it took - the last thing you need when struggling to be motivated is shame for being human. It took as long as it needed.

This is your best piece, imho. I know it took you a while to finish it and you've went through some tough times. However, I truly think that's what made this one even more beautiful. As someone who has lost his drive to draw and play the guitar (10 years now), try to stick with it and use it as your outlet. Once that will, or drive, is gone it is really hard to get back.

Thank you for your kind words... honestly, losing love for art is one of my biggest fears, sometimes I even come to question whether or not art was a waste of time. But, I'll try my best! I don't think I can really imagine my life without it. Again, thank you! Truly.

Your most welcome! My philosophy is that music and art are extensions of our language and express what words fail to do.

AAA ITS IRIS ;-;
LaTale has a special place in my heart as well, I played when it was still in closed beta under OGP and I still play it today under Papayaplay, it's honestly a 'one of its time' type of mmorpg!
I really love the way you shaded everything it's all so soft and melancholy of sorts ;-; so beautiful!!
I also knew immediately where it was located, such good work >< !

uUUUUUUUU Thank you aaaaa qwq
And yeah, I agree, there's nothing that can replace LaTale. I have a papaya account as well, but I probably would've tried to be active over there if there were actual events in the game.. Dx
