Even though the flowers dry, the hair turns white, and the passion fades, does that mean love is still forgotten?Related content

No it doesn't. And it looks like it's turned to gold in this picture.

well, now...THAT'S profound...
in one of my friend's profiles, she write,"gramma used to love painting her toenails but now she can't because her arthritus (forgive my horrible apelling errors) hurts her back so much. because he loves her just that much, my grampa does it for her now." so no, love is never forgotten.
i like how the flower, though dead, is still so beautiful, as if it's still embued with the life that we know is gone. i like how we can imagine that there are spiderwebs drapped across it, symbolizing it's age and it's fraility. all in all, nicely done.

this is an amazing photograph. the texture is very beautiful, and so are the colors. they both blend together very well to create a really strong image. the autumn-hue colors help suggest the whole idea of death, decay, forgetting, etc. all that good stuff. this image and your description bring a lot to mind. reminds me of that thread about roses being a symbol of love, and if roses die then does love die...
nice work.

mmm....forgotten? No. Preserved? Yes. That's why I keep my dried roses...to preserve the memory of the person that gave them to me.
This is really nice...I love it.

I always keep the dried flowers in a vase, in my room. preservation of them is careful and handling must be delicate - but they last for longer than one anticipates when underlying beauty is dran from within.

Oh, absolutely awesome. I don't have much time to comment your latest batch of photos (like Safe harbor, Chained or Christmas 2003) but this one deserves a halt!
I love it. You certainly are having fun with macros and red filters.
Cheers

not to me... beauty does not diminish with age nor knowledge of it decrease..soft young skin may acquire a new texture and the mind may give greater pause between answers or even forget a question posed ..but the beauty it has known is never gone.. it remains locked within the heart where it first felt the joy of love for another , of need , and of trust and it forever remembers the first day it said, yes and ,i care ,and i will and Ido and I will forever and nothing, but nothing not even time can ever alter enough that which has held such grand dreams to such a degree that it is able to fully destroy what was and always will be beautiful. It remains universal, cosmic, forever.
Great capture.

This is perfect. Love lasts far beyond youth and outter beauty. This photo is very powerful, at least to me it is. Wonderful job on this.

Listening to the Last Samurai Soundtrack, and then viewing this almost braught a tear to my eye .
Excellent work William. The image, the title, and the description are what all deviations should hope to achieve, perfection.
I think true love has the ability to move mountains, destroy worlds, and change the flow of time. The passion may fade, the pedals may dry, the hair turn white, but the love will always remain stitched into time.
