For me,
I hear a voice, but see no source. It echoes in my head, and makes my heart stir, my knees week, and my mouth dry. Yet it calls to me, yearning for my very soul, to join it's chorus. The mind agrees, the body is willing, and the heart aches to go. But does this voice speak truly for the one who's call it claims to be? An image remain in my head, such beauty I could never imagine, but it still is there. Where it came from I know not, where it is leading me, only time will tell. But the voice still calls, Beaconing me, tearing at my mind, causing me to almost lose it, saved only by my will alone, I only resist in order to make sustain what my next move should be. For if I was to follow a path, that seemed so easy, it could lead me to my own destruction. But if i do keep my wits about me, follow the voice, testing it's intentions, I will know weather to proceed further, or to hold back. I not only feet for my own safety, but of the source of the voice. As it may yet be unknown that it has been calling out to one, unknowingly to it's waking mind, would it know it calls for me. I dare not approach until my presence is known, as well as my intentions. Because in my heart, beats the drum of ages, holding the warmth of the world, but with the tenderness of a feather.
If only to ask there question, is it me this soul truly sings for? Or am I just one of the many that may hear it's song? Am i the only one who has the image of beauty in my head? Or do other see what I see, Feel what I feel. I know not. I must be patient, but still the question must be asked, but will she hear me? For I know not if my own voice, or the presence of my soul will reach her, much less be given permission to ask such a question. My heart still wanders closer, but will it be received well, or will it be torn asunder? There is not much of it left, as the voice still echoes, the day wears on, and the song still plays, The voice still sings...

Oh man I think that is your best work yet - it is just so poignant and poetic and raw and vulnerable. This is truly beautiful writing and this sentence just spoke to me so intensely as I read it:
"Because in my heart beats the drum of ages, holding the warmth of the world, but with the tenderness of a feather".

The call still sounds,
Β Β Β Ringing clearly in my ears, as if I had just heard it's whisper from the darkness of the night. There is but one voice of which I can hear echo across the land. This siren's call pulls at the heart of this man who has searched the world for the love his heart desired. Direction of his life unknown, his convictions question, his very soul doubting its own existence. His heart beating so hard it wants to burst from his chest and make it's own journey to find who calls to it. The song loops within his ears, filling him with both hope and sorrow. Β Longing for what he has been without for so long, but lingering doubt creeps into his mind, as is trying to recall how to love again. Having been lost in this world alone for so long, the heart knows how to love, but the body has been stalled for so long. What will it take to restart the flame within, to bring the fiery passion back into being. Β When will the flames burn again, and who will be there to share and bask in the warmth of this heart. Giving it a reason to beat again, someone to believe in once more.Β
Β Β Β The song continues to sound. but where will it lead this heart? to love, or ruin?Β
