Administrator/Announcer Win.Seriously. She broke up a friendship with the reward being a pair of boots.
Yeah, yeah it's pretty cool because it reduces damage while rocket jumping...but still! Jeez. lol
I threw this together really quickly, as you can tell. It's so freaking sketchy lol. And that I did this in mostly monochrome/analogous colors. derp

At first, when i saw the boot ability to reduce dam when you rocket jump is kinda good
But it gets pretty useless when you in a building

I bet the Demomen would REALLY need these when it comes to sticky jumping, you'll need 2-3 sticky bombs to fly across the map! And Soldiers normally can't do that XD Rock on, Soldier!

I don't think the Demoman would've gotten the Gunboats if his side had won.
Think about it: The Gunboats take up the secondary weapon slot. If you equipped them, you'd have to give up your Sticky Bomb Launcher, and therefore, the ability to sticky jump in the first place.

Is it me or does it seem like they knew the soldier would win? They're shaped just like soldier boots. Either that or they had something planned for each that's a bit different in case they won. Still I think they wouldn't be dumb enough to say the Gunboats for the Demoman go in the second slot and probably put them in another slot for his case.

Here's how:
1.Point your rocket to the ground/your feet.
2.Fire, and jump at the same time.
3. Move RIGHT after you jump. BANG! You can jump higher than scouts can this way.

I was in the Soldier/ Demoman War.
And all I got was a pair of boots.

Oh well...at least I was on the Demoman's side on this war, at least the Scottish Resistance was worth it...I suppose...I still prefer the normal Sticky Launcher

Well, its a pretty decent weapon, you can put up to 16 stickys, but the only way to detonate them is if you look at them (you are open to enemy fire) and the stickies of the scottish resistance can be destryoed unlike the regular stickies. I go for hte regular sticky launcher everyday if you ask me.

I was pretty disappointed at the reveal of the reward, but it is a very useful update. I'd use it all the time.
It also makes sense since both Demoman and Soldier rocket/stickybomb jump. The final weapon works to the advantage of both of them.

Eh yeah, it's pretty useful for people who love to rocket jump all the time (it drives me nuts when they do and I play Medic, it's like...stay put goddamnit! you're just gonna hurt yourself again!).
But for those who don't even bother, or don't know how to....like me derp, it seems kinda silly. XD;

I read on the SteamForums that the Boots should be combined with the Shovel as a counter to the OP that is the Equalizer (RANDOM CRITS, IT DOES NOT NEED)

Now that I think about it :
With the soldier, if you wear the Boots, you can't wield the Shot-gun (with a new awesome ass taunt! XD) or the Flag&Horn...
But if the Demoman would have winned, the Boots would be exchanged for the Grenade Launcher... right?

Exactly! That's the other issue! It takes up the other secondary weapon slot. So that makes it suck even more. XD You figured it'd be in the misc section.

If it would have, the Soldier would be EVEN MORE over-power than he is right now... ^^0
Direct-Hit can kill a Scout/Sniper/Spy in one shot, Flag&Horn Boost everyone (wich makes it better than the Jarate) and the Equaliser has no draw-back...

I guess Helen(being a woman)thought that shoes would be a perfectly suitable thing to fight over. looks like someone forgot that men fight over much deeper things(meat,king of the tv, stuff like that)
